Jarrod, Heather, Finlay and Emma Gunn McQuillan would like to welcome you to Nature Space Resort & Retreat Centre, and the beautiful North Shore area of eastern Prince Edward Island.

Heather is a veterinarian, one of our main tour guides, a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200h and working on RYT-500h (with certifications in vinyasa, yin, chair, and yoga nidra)), a meditation instructor, and an advanced flatwater standup paddleboard (SUP) instructor. She is also a trained facilitator in a variety of topics including communication, leadership, wellness, and corporate team-building. She can work with your organization to deliver a meaningful program, and she delivers many retreats and events herself.

Jarrod was the oyster specialist for the province of PEI, has an active oyster lease here on PEI, is one of our main tour guides, and is a world class sea kayak coach who has coached and guided throughout North and South America. He is a Paddle Canada Level 4 Skills Paddler and Level 3 Instructor (highest level for skills and advanced level for teaching). He has taught everyone from the basic beginner to elite level paddlers in conditions ranging from flat, calm conditions to extreme surf.

Finlay and Emma are our awesome kiddos and you may see them helping around the resort, playing in the yard, or socializing the chickens. They love to talk to our guests, and particularly enjoy introducing you to the flock. They are both bilingual in French and English (they attend the francophone school in Charlottetown).

Our four-season resort and retreat centre has been a vision in the making for more than a decade. When we moved to PEI in 2010, we selected the property here in St. Peters Harbour with the long-term plan to create a special space for people to enjoy the natural world of Prince Edward Island. The minute we drove up the lane, we knew we had found the right spot! We are nestled amidst the forest with nearly 1000 feet of waterfront on St. Peter’s Lake. This brackish lake is spring fed at the south end, and open to the ocean and the incredible white sand beaches at the north.

This area is home to many species of birds and wildlife. More than 360 species of birds have been recorded on the Island, and our resort is home to many of these, including a resident pair of bald eagles and their babies. We also commonly see kingfishers, osprey, and great blue heron in the warmer months, and blue jays, chickadees, and woodpeckers in the winter. Due to our proximity to the ocean, we also see an abundance of seabirds. While there are no large mammals on PEI (except the two-legged variety) we often see squirrels, fox and raccoon, and occasionally spot beaver, muskrat, and weasels (who all keep our resident chickens on their toes!).

You will find a beautiful creek running through the property, along with many trails through the woods. Here, you can enjoy spectacular sunsets, magnificent starscapes, and can do a little forest bathing. Feel free to explore all areas of the resort including the gardens, trails, and the lake. This is a place for connection, healing, and creativity; a place to experience the natural world around you.
