Georgia Sunset Cabin is an updated (BY US!) genuine D-style log cabin beside a meadow where the wild bees swarm-Taken from the Keith Urban Song "Memories Of Us" Located just off paved Hwy. 76 and 9 scenic miles from downtown Blue Ridge this luxury authentic D shaped log cabin is in a perfect location for your next adventure in the Blue Ridge Mountains! Our cabin was chosen in 2020 as the filming location for the Latin singer Sebastian Yatra’s holiday video “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!” as seen on YouTube. Our cabin is positioned on 5 acres of serene mountain valleys lined with massive Leyland Cypress trees and fronting 500 feet of wide, noisy, rocky, rushing Hemptown Creek! If you love wide open mountain and valley views while enjoying lots of solitude then this is the cabin for you! Whatever your favorite season of the year is the cabin’s surrounding property never disappoints! From the blankets of snow in winter, multi-colored leaves of fall or the stunning, thick green grass of spring and summer all of the seasons here are a sight to behold! Sit on the covered wrap around deck porch, relax in the hot tub or walk along the creek banks listening to the soothing melody of the rushing water over the rocks while viewing the surrounding mountains or try your luck fishing for rainbow trout! Hemptown Creek is a federally protected trout creek and the Chattahoochee National Fish Hatchery arrives 7 times a year at the bridge near the cabin to deliver them into the creek!

If you happen to be traveling by motorcycle or small car the cabin access is very safe and easy and there’s an oversized 2 car garage w/ wall mounted garage door opener to store your vehicles and wind-therapy toys! No worries here about treacherous mountain roads that are quite common in this mountainous area and even compounded during storms! As you approach the concrete driveway you’ll be ready to relax and enjoy all the amenities offered here! The kiddos can be entertained by riding their scooters and bicycles on the concrete driveway or playing games on the 5 acres of creekside property to release some of their boundless energy! No dangerous hills or drop offs here to worry about!

Walking up to the front door you will want to get busy rockin' (in our double wooden rocker that is!) when you see the large covered wrap around deck porch we've built onto the cabin! As you rock the world’s troubles away you will enjoy looking out over 5 acres of creekside property for the many birds, rabbits, groundhogs and herds of deer seen frequently there! As you step into the cabin you will notice alot of rustic eye candy, but probably the first thing to catch your eye will be our huge mounted trophy bull elk! A definite guest favorite! Then you're sure to notice the all wood interior (No Sheetrock anywhere!) and soaring 2 story vaulted living room/dining room ceiling with large antler living room chandelier and triangle windows that add natural light and warmth to the cabin. You will surely want to curl up on the leather furniture w/ 5 recliners that many previous guests have actually chose to sleep in and raved about! Be sure to use the black walnut coffee/ end table built and finished by owners for that glass of iced tea and sink your toes into the cabin area rug w/ lantern pattern placed over the 1x6 refinished plank flooring! The reclaimed wood table with 2 chairs that holds the media equipment came from an old warehouse in the Gatlinburg area. Enjoy the viewing options of Direct Satellite and streaming channels on the adjustable wall mounted 55" Flat screen Smart TV! Warm up by the stone faced fireplace with red cedar log mantle and gas logs! Up above the fireplace around the perimeter of the living room/dining room hangs our ever growing collection of antique lanterns that definitely adds to the cabin atmosphere! We've also installed live bark edged wood trim around the ceiling of living/dining room with indirect LED mood lighting that's great to use at night! Our cabin is also handicapped/wheelchair friendly with only one small step from driveway into the downstairs kitchen/living/dining/bedrooms although the bedroom/bathroom doorways are not wheelchair accessible.

You'll also be ready to cook up your viddles when you see the rustic wood dining table and side bench built by the owners! The table legs are made from old locust fence posts harvested from the perimeter of the creek side property! There’s 4 dining chairs and 3 swivel log bar stools for seating at the large eat in kitchen bar nearby!

After a long day of hiking or sightseeing the metal roof/porch covered Dynasty hot tub with LED color changing lighting will be a welcome sight! There’s also LED color changing lights hanging around the hot tub too! There’s a rustic wooden bench with back support and a wooden bartop built by the owners beside the hot tub to enjoy food and drinks with other guests sitting beside the hot tub.

The well-equipped kitchen has tile countertops, a stainless steel LED LG refrigerator with ice maker, glass smooth top SS range w/ microwave hood, SS dishwasher, and large kitchen sink with pull out spray faucet. To help with food prep there's a Ninja food processor, and a load of kitchen gadgets to hone those culinary skills! There's a set of Tramontina 3-ply Stainless Steel cookware to cook up that country breakfast and a full set of red dishware to serve it in! The Lewis family loves to cook and grill out so we know what guests need and want! We supply liquid dish soap, paper towels, kitchen garbage bags, and kitchen sponge!

When you are ready to satisfy those hunger pangs there's a 5 burner gas grill supplied with direct propane and a timed automatic shut-off just in case it's forgotten! No worries of empty propane bottles or changing them out! In case of a snack attack there's plenty of food shopping/dining choices within 10 minutes of the cabin!

There’s a concrete sidewalk from the back steps of the cabin to the LED lighted metal roofed gazebo with large picnic table by the firepit overlooking the creek! Oil rubbed bronze post lanterns light up the walkway at night for safe travels to the picnic area and firepit by the creek! There's also blue LED flood lights that illuminate the creek allowing the huge beavers to be seen that swim the creek at night! The firepit area has a gravel floor and 4 double wooden bench seats around the firepit. The Cowboy fire pit can also be used as a charcoal grill with the stainless steel grate provided.

Downstairs are 2 bedrooms with king-size log beds and night stands, 13" gel-infused pillow-top memory foam mattresses that will have you dreaming mountain dreams in no time at all! (A well-loved amenity according to past guests reviews!) and down alternative comforters and cabin quilts. Guests with allergies will appreciate the dustmite/bed bug/waterproof barrier covers on all pillows and bedding. Both downstairs bedrooms have wall mounted 32” Smart TV’s! Lamps, ceiling fans and large closets with shelving are in all three bedrooms.

After a long day of playing or fishing in the creek and the need arises to wash and dry laundry there is an extra large capacity Samsung washer and dryer with ironing board and iron! We also supply starter laundry detergent and dryer sheets!

Head upstairs to the balcony area where you can play the 40 game (Yes 40!) arcade gaming system! Brush up on those Centipede, Pac-Man, Galaga and Frogger skills and teach the little ones how to play these favorite games from the 80's era! The owners also built the wooden gaming enclosure with benches!

The private upstairs master bedroom/bathroom suite has a soaring vaulted ceiling with loads of rustic log furniture and a 43" HD Flat Screen Smart TV with Direct Satellite and streaming channels! The rustic furnishings include a King size gnarly log bed, 5 drawer gentlemens chest, 6 drawer mirrored dresser, 2 drawer sitting bench, 2-1 drawer nightstands with 2 carved bear 3-way lamps! The king-sized bed has a 13 inch gel-infused pillow top memory foam mattress that will have you feeling like you are sleeping in a marshmallow! Our guests are always asking us where they can buy a mattress like that! (We've had past guests tell us they bought the same mattress after sleeping on them!) For a low-allergy environment there's a bedbug/dust mite/waterproof barrier on all mattresses and pillows!
