Kindred Hideaway at the Colony II Resort at Oyster Bay is located within the Sunset Beach community in Brunswick County, North Carolina on the mainland just one block from the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway with beach access within 2 miles. Our villa was built in 1996 and is located on the second floor of the building. As stated in the HOA property rules and within our rental contract, this is strictly a non-smoking residence and pets are not allowed. Potential renters must be a minimum of 25 years of age to qualify for the terms of our rental agreement.

The modern yet nautical, beach-themed dĆ©cor make this spacious two bedroom, two bathroom villa an ideal place to get away and relax. Equipped with quality cookware, dishes and stainless steel appliances, the kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare meals for your family or entertain guests and is open to the living room, separated by a wrap-around counter. Dishwasher, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, blender/food processor, slow cooker, cooking utensils, serving dishes, silverware and glassware are all provided. The living room has deck access, a 50ā€ smart TV with cable and Netflix access, a DVD/VCR player, as well as board games, coloring materials, books and DVDs available for your enjoyment. Tastefully decorated with local artwork, each of the two bedrooms has two queen beds and a 43ā€ smart TV with access to both cable and Netflix. Bed linens and bath towels are provided as is a high chair, two booster seats, inflatable toddler bed, and a pack and play. Please bring your own beach towels. An informational binder provides suggestions for where to eat and what to do in the local communities, and local books and field guides give interested guests details regarding the areaā€™s history and lore.

The Colony II resort has many amenities to offer including both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub spa, an exercise room, BBQ grills and several picnic tables. The island of Sunset Beach is only a scenic 2 mile drive away. Sunset Beach has public parking, a gazebo, showers for rinsing and restrooms. Enjoy shell collecting at the east end of the island at low tide and rent a bicycle or walk down to the North Carolina Coastal Reserve of Bird Island (west end of island) to leave a message in the Kindred Spirit mailbox...discover the peace and serenity only found at the beach.

Fun beach trip

We enjoyed our stay. we are not new to the area and have vacationed here for years! We decided to try somewhere else (our first VRBO experience!) and it was great! I would definitley stay here again and recommend to others.Great location close to Ocean Isle and sunset beach as well as Little River, Shallotte Calabash, and Myrtle!!

Super nice stay!

Easy check in and checkout! Quiet. Super close to the beach (7 min drive to pier) EXTREMELY well stocked kitchen. Don't bring anything!!!! Pack nplay, high chair, booster seat for those that need---less packing! Would 100% stay again.

Loved it!!!

The condo was great!! It was so clean and comfortable! The communication was just right leading up to our stay and very responsive as we were checking out. The community was quiet and the amenities are great! The location is ideal for getting to various adventures conveniently! I cannot recommend this space enough! Beautiful condo and wonderful beach!!

I couldnā€™t be happier with my stay at Kindred Hideaway. The condo itself is in a great location with several stores near by but not overcrowded at all. We had everything we needed inside and since it rained our first full day, the indoor pool was a great amenity. Itā€™s a very short drive to the beach and a nice public beach access with full bathrooms at the entry was a huge bonus for the beach itself. The owners are also very responsive and helpful with requests. One of the best vacations Iā€™ve ever had all around!!

Wonderful Condo Experience!

We recently stayed at this home for a girls weekend to celebrate my Mom's Birthday and everything about the home was perfect. It was even better than we expected! It was quiet and beautiful, perfectly appointed from every type of cookware - good coffee maker, etc. The home was very clean and truly beautiful and all the furnishing are new! I will definitely be back! In addition, the owners were very nice and great to work with!

We have been coming to Sunset Beach for many years. We have stayed at the Colony Resort multiple times. This stay was excellent. The property is in amazing shape. The condo was absolutely beautiful and met all of the needs of our family. We definitely want to come back and when we do we plan to stay at the same place and condo if it is available. The owners were outstanding. They communicated very nicely and made sure our family was taken care of. The condo is so very convenient and close to everything. It is super close to the waterway and just a few short minutes to the beach. We highly recommend this resort for your Sunset Vacation!!! You will not be disappointed!!! AMAZING RENTAL

We have stayed at Sunset for several years and even stayed at the Colony in a different unit. This was, by far, the most enjoyable stay for us! It's the little things such as a FULLY stocked kitchen! Even a crock pot, blender, etc. There were also games and coloring books for my children. They also had things like laundry detergent, hair dryer, extra sheet, blankets, dish washing detergent, coffee, and dishwasher pods available. Owners were amazing to communicate with! Super quick to reply to any communication! We are already planning our stay at Sunset in this unit next year!

Lovely condo and as pictured! No issues. Great food is within 10 minutes. Itā€™s on the 2nd floor and I donā€™t know if it was mentioned. Luckily my son came in handy for all the unloading and loading. Nice property.

We love this condo for our yearly family vacations. Owners have made lots of helpful notes throughout to make your stay simple and we love the convenient location of the condo. Spent our time hanging out at the condos pool, at Sunset Beach and some time in Myrtle Beach at mini golf and Captain Georgeā€™s. Our new found favorite on this trip was Sunset Slush!

The condo is beautifully decorated, stocked with EVERYTHNG, very clean, beachy and we felt at home immediately. Bridget was easy to communicate with. The setting is peaceful, pool was amazing and only 6 minutes to beautiful Sunset Beach. We used it as our home base for a quick 3 day property browsing trip and so wish we could have stayed longer. Hope we can stay again in the future. Was just perfect!

Lots to do!

We stayed here while visiting nearby family, but there was so much in the condo: games to play, movies to watch, books on the area and even a list of top 25 favorite things the owners love to do in the area. While we spent most of our time visiting family, I did enjoy coffee on the balcony every morning. it was so peaceful! Everything we needed was provided and then some! i will definitely stay here again. One of the bedrooms is like a private suite with a little kitchenette. it was a big hit with my daughter.

Our family really enjoys this location with the close proximity to the beach and intracoastal waterway as well as having restaurants and activities so nearby. Sunset Beach felt like home the first time we visited. We love seeing the baby sea turtles hatch from their nests, looking for seashells with our kids, and peaceful walks along the beach.
