This private home has 360 degrees, breathtaking views of the Sawtooth Mountain range, the Salmon River, the Boulder-White Cloud Mountains, and the entire Sawtooth Valley from the bench on Shaw Mesa. The floor-to-ceiling windows and see-through solar shades guarantee you will enjoy all the scenic beauty the Sawtooth National Recreation Area has to offer in this informal home.

Location: This property is located upon the mesa above Hwy 75, about 13 miles from Stanley in the Fisher Creek area. Redfish Lake is about 10 minutes away, located 1/2 way between the home and Stanley. There is one neighbor next door, set behind the property and out of sight of the views. All the other neighbors are a long distance away, giving you ample privacy.

Maximum Guest Count: Sleeps 7

Beds: 2 queen-sized beds; 1 twin bed; pullout couch which has 2 separate twin beds.

Bedrooms: 2 private bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The 2nd bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a twin bed, and a pullout couch with 2 twin beds. There is a privacy screen in this room which can be closed to separate the queen-sized bed from the other sleeping accommodations.

Bathrooms: 2 full bathrooms; one with a shower, the other with a bathtub/shower combination.

Amenities: Views of the Sawtooth Mountains, the Salmon River, and the Boulder-White Cloud Mountains, large wrap-around deck, propane gas barbecue, wood-burning fireplace (wood is not provided), washer and dryer in an unfinished downstairs area, dishwasher, microwave, WiFi, TV w/Blu-ray player (no TV service), local telephone service, fully stocked kitchen, linens, towels, and soaps.

Fantastic location

This is a gem of a house. It’s dated but very comfortable and well stocked. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the central living area so it’s private/quiet. The views absolutely can’t be beat. The one downside we experienced was the building of a big house smack next door. We were not informed we’d be within spitting distance of a construction site, which I thought was not cool, and future renters should be aware of the new neighbors. But having said that we definitely recommend this wonderful spot.

An older, quirky house but with the most beautiful, stunning, vast views of the Sawtooth Mountains. Just an amazing find. Well worth the trip. Sitting out on the deck was the highlight of our trip to Idaho.

Great house with amazing views. It got chilly at night (even in the summer) so I recommend bringing a jacket if you want to sit out on the deck to enjoy the sunset.

Heaven in the Sawtooths

This place was even more incredible than the pictures. The cabin was funky, but it the best way possible. The views from the cabin were better than the pictures can do justice. After not seeing family for 18 months, this was the perfect place to gather and enjoy time as a family. I am already dreaming of going back.

The property had incredible views from every direction

The property is older but it has spectacular views from every direction. The property is about 12 miles from the town of Stanley but well worth the drive. I would recommend this property to friends and family and would stay there again.

Best stay in Idaho!

Wow what a beautiful place and surroundings! Gorgeous view of the mountains, secluded and the sky with stars was amazing! My hubby fully enjoyed the fireplace. We loved to look out of all the windows and see the beauty of the nature! There are 2 rooms, 2 queen comfortable beds and a pull out couch with another twin bed. Plently of space for a family of 5! The main room had 2 couches and comfortable chairs that we used to sit next to the fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped. All we needed was there and we were very sad to leave. Definitely want to come back!

Awesome Experience

The Shaw Mesa Drive home exceeded our expectations The view is surreal and the house was intriguing. Extremely well maintained with a lot of character. We wanted to know the history of it. It was exceedingly clean, beds were comfortable and location to take advantage of great hikes was exceptional We will definitely be back for a longer stay

Amazing views, great place to stay!

This house had everything we needed for few days stay with friends. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, everything is clean and well-kept. The property manager is easy to contact and very responsive. But the most amazing amenity is the view from both front and back! The stunning view of the Sawtooth range gave us a lot of entertainment because we were there when thunderstorms were moving through. We had incredible sunsets and there was a light show one night caused by lightening backlighting the range over and over. Happily they were wet thunderstorms! We had a great stay!

Gary and Sari moved to Stanley as full-time residents in 2008.
