Modern cottage escape in Muskoka

Newly renovated in 2021 a Hawaiian inspired cottage retreat. We offer 4 bedrooms with 5 beds and 2 full washrooms in 2400 Sq of space. . Sleeps 6 Adults and up to 2 children. located in Lake of Bays Ontario. Located conveniently between Bracebridge (20 min ) and Huntsville (15 min). Approx 2 hours north of Toronto . The cottage is on a medium sized private lake with NO PUBLIC access that offers amazing kayaking, fishing and canoeing with limited boat traffic. Parking for 3 cars.

*Guests will need to be able to climb down stairs in order to get to dock.
There are about 20 descending steps with hand rails to reach a flat boardwalk that leads to dock. *

3 security cameras on outside of property . One on each entrance for security and over BBQ to ensure gas shut off

We had a girls weekend get away and couldn't have been happier with our cottage choice! James was great, the home has literally everything you could need. We enjoyed the kayaks and the screened porch. We will go again next year!

Perfect

Our stay was beyond our expectations. Property manager was excellent all around, prompt and helpful. The cottage was immaculate, clean, instructions for use of all appliances and a beautiful layout.My two brothers and I, with an age old friend had concerns and trepidation as we have never booked a vacation property before. Vrbo and the property owner made our experience simple, easy and allayed our fears of disappointment and a bad experience. The property is beautiful, built into a sidehill overlooking the lake and appointed with a large screened verandah and two docks. After a discussion, there is not one thing we could find that would have made our stay better which is quite remarkable. We are all over 70 and have high standards. It was obvious the owner is intelligent with a great deal of forethought to ensure every detail was perfect.Two thumbs up and five stars all the way around.

Family vacation

The cottage had everything we needed. Lots of room for 5 adults. Games to play for the rainy days. Outdoor equipment to enjoy the lake. Perfect spot.

Perfect Muskoka Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our Labour Day long weekend getaway. This property has everything and more - just show up with your clothes and food! Very clean and well appointed with ALL amenities considered - private lake access, paddle boats, fire pit, bbq cookouts, clean linens, fully outfitted kitchen, accessible laundry, gorgeous screened in muskoka room to enjoy indoor/outdoor living and just a short drive to Baysville or Huntsville if you happen to forget something (but I doubt you will because this place has it all!). Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful little getaway

This property is a wonderful gen of a spot. We arrived on a day where there was an ongoing power outage in the area, but fortunately for us James had a propane generator installed, so we were still able to enjoy the location while the power was out. Having the BBQ available to cook on was a bonus and allowed us to avoid using large appliances while we were running on back up power. The screened in porch is an absolute dream of a space to hang out on, especially during the very buggy season (which we were in), and the additional protection from the Skeetercac was a nice little bonus. The space comfortably fit our group of 6 and our dogs. The space is clean, bright, and has everything you need for a getaway, and all the amenities are of higher quality than most rental spots you would normally stay at. There's a games room with a bunch of board games and a couple of mini standup arcade options (street fighter and NBA Jam). There are a number of options for watercrafts, a few kayaks, a couple of sit on top kayaks, a canoe, and a peddle boat if you'd like to get out and enjoy some time on the lake, and once the sun goes down there's a nice little fire pit down by the water to enjoy. Bags of kindling and firewood are available at the gas station nearby (about a 5 minute drive) for $11 for the firewood, we didn't buy kindling, so I'm not sure if that price. James is extremely quick to respond to all messages and is great with communication. Highly recommended!

Home away from home

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the “Joie cottage” for a week at the end of April. It was our first time going away as a family of four (9 month old and a 2 year old) and we weren’t sure what to expect. However, once we got to the cottage, our expectations weren’t only met but were exceeded. James thought of everything and was even accommodating to supply a pack n play and high chair. The cottage is beautifully designed to be both functional and a pleasure to be in. The location is perfect and outdoor offering is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Our family had an amazing time and can’t wait to return.

Beautiful and welcoming property

The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped, from the kitchen to games for all ages. But what really makes the experience stand out is the hosts. We had issues with our rental car and the support and understanding we got felt more like we were staying at a friend’s cottage than a rental.

Amazing Stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The property is gorgeous, extremely clean, and such a peaceful location! It had everything we needed and more, and everything was clean and well-kept. Its very close to Huntsville and Bracebridge which is very convenient. The beds are so comfortable, the kids (and adults) enjoyed the games room. The views are beautiful, it would a wonderful place to stay again in the summer! We will definitely stay again!

Amazing weekend!

The best place esp for family. It’s very clean and new. The place has everything that you can think of. Amenities are great. The lake and the view are beautiful. My family of six was comfortably placed. The rooms are spacious and cozy. The older ones were mostly in the screened front porch drinking hot drinks while the younger ones were making use of the game room. It was the most amazing weekend for us. The best part was the owner made us check in early!

Relaxing Retreat

The cottage is well appointed and extremely clean. We felt very welcome here. The hosts were very accommodating and always answered any inquiries right away. The property is beautiful and well kept. Gorgeous views of the lake. We especially appreciated the covered screen porch. We plan on returning here again.

The most beautiful spot!

Pictures do not do this lovely spot justice. It’s beautifully decorated and renovated, and the character and ambience of the property made it feel just like home. James and Cynthia were amazing to coordinate with and made everything so easy. They are excellent hosts! The things they did to their place to make it simple to be there did not go unnoticed. They made you feel welcomed into their space the moment you walked in, without them even being there. Everything was clean, tidy and relaxing. My friends and I had the best time and already are talking about going back. I could not recommend James and Cynthia, and their amazing home more!

Relaxing vacation

Wonderful relaxing family vacation! Home away from home with all the amenities and essentials included with our stay. Very clean cottage and property, comfortable beds, plenty of games and water accessories included. Lovely to have the screened in porch and not worry about bugs in the evening. Location is perfect, nicely secluded but not too far from downtown Huntsville. Would most definitely return for another future vacation.

Making memories in Muskoka

Joie Muskoka is an amazing cottage, with modern, beautifully-appointed and spotlessly clean rooms and lots of amenities. The kayaks, canoe and paddle boat were great fun. Hosts James and Cynthia responded promptly to our questions and made us feel welcome. This was a fantastic place for us, our children and grandchildren.

Amazing stay

To start out, the hosts (Cynthia and James) are absolutely amazing. From the get go they were so helpful and responsive. I’m terms of the place it was super clean, well thought out and had all the amenities that one could ask for. Small things like the kitchen being fully stocked with all the utensils, to the patio having a portable fireplace just made the experience that much better. One of the best things about this cottage is the stunning view you get looking down at the lake! We will for sure be booking again.

We offer a clean open concept modern space with 5 beds and 2 pull out sofa beds in 2400 sq of living space.
• Central air conditioning
• 1 King size bed
• 2 Queen beds
• 1 Bunkbed (twin over twin)
• Split level cottage with 2 upper level of bedrooms/rec room and one main floor with kitchen, living, dining, and games room.
• Fully screened in 300 sq ft muskoka room with direct access to living room.
• Fully equipped kitchen with some spices and cooking oils
• Master bedroom with its own stand up shower, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub
• Main floor washroom with double sink and bathtub
• Brand new LG Washtower laundry and dryer
• Unlimited Wifi (30-50 Mbps) sufficient enough for streaming and remote work. Not great for zoom calls.
• Amazon Prime, youtube, netflix works great but will take and extra minute to load.
• Outdoor Weber BBQ grill with gas hookup. No propane tanks needed
• Snowshoes included (for winter months only)
• 2 Smart TVs and log in with your own account for Netflix, amazon prime etc
• Private dock on the water with direct access to Menominee lake
• Firepit facing the lake
• 4 kayaks. 1 canoe, and 1 paddleboat
