Little house, big history! This charming cottage was built in 1890 and managed to survive the Great Hurricane of 1900 when many in the area did not, and has also survived numerous other powerful storms including Hurricane Ike in 2008. It has under gone a complete renovation and is now ready for your wonderful and relaxing Galveston vacation. Located just 21/2 blocks from the Seawall, Beachy Keen offers a comfy, put your feet up kind of vibe. The colors and decor are what you would expect in a little house by the sea. It has charm to spare but also boasts all the modern conveniences needed for today's travelers. A fully stocked kitchen and in-house washer/dryer offers you the option of a low key vacation with everything you need at your fingertips. However, if action and sightseeing are on your agenda, then you are in the right spot. Many of the islands restaurants and attractions are nearby. Whatever your pleasure, make Beachy Keen Beach Pad your home away from home!

We loved this place. Very nice. Great AC. Close to everything in a safe neighborhood couple hundred yards from the seawall. We will be back!

Much needed vacay

It was great it was our 2nd time renting here and like the first time it was quiet clean and welcoming. Tony was very helpful and on top of the things we needed. We had a great time. This place has it all!

Great Place to stay

We had a wonderful time, a couple blocks from the Sea Wall, restaurants, and night life. Our dog loved the secure yard, this was a big plus for us. Looking forward to returning.

Perfect Galveston Getaway

We come to Galveston for Thanksgiving as a traditional. We've stayed at Beachy Keen previously and are always quickly reminded of the things we love about it. Close to the things we like to do, homey, and quiet. We've already booked it again

We enjoyed our time at Beachy Keen. It is a quaint get away and we enjoyed our time there. There is an enclosed yard that was great for my poodles. We will be back!!!

A nice little get away

Overall the property was legit. The house had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The location was awsome! To beach or restaurants is all in walking range. I would rent there again for sure.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

This was our second time staying here with our 2 German Shepherds! The yard is perfect size for them to do their business, the neighborhood is safe for a longer walks, and the beach is less than a mile away! We bring our kennels with us to keep them out of trouble for when we go out, and the bedroom has just enough space for one on each side of the media table. The house is perfect set up for a weekend stay! Everything we needed was easily accessed! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

This is the perfect little cottage for a beach getaway!

This property is in the perfect location! The neighborhood is super quiet yet you are close to the beach, shopping, food, and all the other things you want to see. The unit itself is spacious, full of natural light, well-stocked, and super clean. We thoroughly enjoyed are stay and will definitely book it again in the future.

Quick Island visit

Great pet friendly property in walking distance to the beach. We stayed 2 nights with our 2 dogs. The dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard that the upper unit has access to. We enjoyed the evening sea breeze from the deck that has a nice table that seats four.

Great little spot

It was a great little escape from Houston. The dogs had an absolute blast in the yard and laying on the deck people watching. Beds were hard but we are young so we were fine. It was nice having satellite tv for the relaxing moments of the day. Communication with Ron was easy & he was a nice guy.

Great find!

This was a very nice, cozy stay. It had everything we could have needed. The house was very clean. The beds were a bit too firm for my taste but my husband loved it. All updated amenities. The outside could use painting and the gate is hard to open. But nothing that wouldn’t make not stay there again.

Short walk to Seawall. The house is very well decorated with plenty amenities. Thoughtful details like doggie bowls, beach towels, coffee, also washer dryer! Feels very at home. Fenced in yard for the doggie. The house is well designed with the upstairs, where we stay, completely sealed off from the downstair studio. The owner is very responsive, easy check in check out. We are already planning for the next visit. Thank you!

Great experience

Although I had some communication problems (international telephone), the arrival process was fine. The house was clean and had the amenities described on the site. The location of the house is good since it is close to the beach to walk but at the same time away from noise. The checkout process was easy and hassle free. Congratulations on the condition of the property and its cleanliness.

Great Spot

My family (of 6) loved this precious beach pad. Beachy Keen is literally steps from the seawall where you can eat and play. The house is furnished with everything a family needs, including a washer and dryer-a must for the beach. Beachy Keen is minutes from other attractions like the fisherman's wharf, where you can buy fresh seafood and cook it at the house (which is furnished with everything you need to cook your meals). We found the home very tidy. Tony and Ron were so easy to do business with! We will definitely stay at this property again.

Cute Cottage

Really Cute cottage within walking distance of the beach. Loved the photo books with the remodeling pics. Amazing job! All of our questions were promptly answered. The fenced yard was nice for the pets. We had to leave early though, didn't even spend the night, and wasn't offered any sort of refund for the remainder of the nights we booked. It was August and the air conditioning just could not keep up with the Texas Heat! Also, our pets, who travel extensively with us, were scared beyond belief inside this cottage. They have never acted so strangely in any property! We don't know what made them so frightened. We humans were enjoying it! I would stay again if I weren't traveling with pets and a toddler.

I live in Houston, TX and have been a flight attendant for 32 years. I inherited an interest in real estate from my father and after taking over his business I have been able to expand into Galveston. Since my desire is to live in Galveston full time in the future, I thoroughly enjoy spending my spare time on the island. Waking up to the sounds and smell of the Gulf of Mexico is not a bad place to be!

I have had a love of old houses since childhood and have renovated several in the last 15 years. While some would look upon an old beat up, boarded window house with horror, I see history and stories from the past. Bringing it up to date is a joy and a chance to keep Galveston's past alive.
