Ripped straight out of an architectural magazine, Casa Texana is truly remarkable—but it’s those thoughtful little details that put this villa over the top.

Walk through domed brick archways to the terrace outfitted with a lovely Mayan stone carvings and a Chac-Mool statue. The grandiose kitchen is outfitted with new appliances, a custom bar, and wine refrigerator. An outdoor grill is the perfect spot for a cookout. Gorgeous house and beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a truly incredible stay for our group of 11 people. The rooms will nice, the beach was beautiful. The caretakers were great and everything in the house was perfect. The pool was a little chilly but the ocean was perfect. Lots of fish 🐠 in the reef right outside the house. The kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards. Gabby and Christina cooked a delicious Nee Years Eve meal- highly recommend using them. The location was safe and accessible. Thank you for everything! Hope to be back soon.

The place was wonderful! Plenty of room for all of us. There were 9 adults and 5 children. The hot water was off and on but we figured out that we just have to space out the showers a little bit more. The seaweed was not an issue. They cleaned it up every morning. There is an amazing reef not too far out and boats, paddle boards, and snorkeling stuff was provided . We got to see baby turtles right on the beach!! Although they have laundry service there is not a washer/dryer that is free to use. Highly recommend the chef! It was great food for a reasonable price. Also, the massage services are some of the best massages we all have ever experienced. Overall a great experience!

Fantastic Stay At Casa Texana

We spent a wonderful Christmas week at Casa Texana. David at Akumal Direct was amazing with help scheduling excursions and responding to all our questions. Gaby and Christina cooked fabulous dinners for us (breakfasts too!) We also appreciated visits from Roger to make sure everything was well.We would not hesitate booking again and are looking forward to our next Akumal vacation.

Beautiful location

We were celebrating a 50th birthday with friends. The hosts were kind and accommodating. We could have used a change over in towels and maybe bedding but overall we all were extremely happy with our trip and the accommodations. We did reserve the chef services and that was so convenient and nice.

Carona Beach Living

Incredible house, staff, and experience with a beach view that could be in a Carona Commercial. The staff (Gaby and Christina) were there for everything and made fantastic dinners and breakfast. The spread out design allows for individual time and the beach/pool are perfect for groups. The snorkeling right off the beach is some of the best in the area. We will be back.

Fabulous and a must stay!!!

The location was amazing! The home was fabulous and clean. Everyone that worked on the property was so nice, accommodating and curious. Gabby is a fabulous cook and we had our best meals upstairs on the patio with his culinary delights- what a cool menu he put together! All in all don’t even think about it and book the property you will be happy!

The home was all.it said it was and more. Staff was warm and always helpful. We had a rental car but spent most of our time relaxing at home, which speaks to the ultra inviting and peaceful surroundings. Overall great experience. Will definitely repeat.

The property was as advertised. Our group (family) of 11 had a great time. We enjoyed several meals cooked by Gaby & Christina and had great service from Roger the manager. Our group ranged in age from 20-78. There are three bedroom on the ground level, one bedroom on the second level (large master), and three in the casita. Air conditioning worked well. There was plenty of room for everyone. The first night I asked for a lighter (fire stick) to light some incense I had brought and there wasn't one in the house, but one appeared later that night. Gabi noticed the makeshift volleyball net we put up and a couple of days later a real net appeared (it was left under the stairs - where you will find a plethora of masks, snorkels, swim shoes, life jackets). Gabi also appeared with an electric pump when we were blowing up the giant beach ball we brought. The pool is shady in the afternoon so we were able to spend many hours in it without getting sunburn during some epic pool volleyball tournaments. The only disappointment was the sargassum (seaweed), but that was not a fault of the house and we knew about ahead of time (hence the incense). We were still able to kayak and paddleboard and had planned for Cenote swims and snorkeling at Yalku.

Our house was perfect for our group and was well stocked and maintained by the service staff. David booked us the Santa Cruz Cenote Tour which was one of our best experiences ever with a very guide who gave us a beautiful description of the caves and cenote.

The beach was beautiful and the snorkeling directly our from the house was amazing. Best option for group stay in Mexico.

We stayed at Casa Texana in November. Weather was great and private beach was perfect and probably the nicest beach in the area. Close to tourist activities (turtles, cenotes, Tulum, golf, ruins). Staff Gaby and Cristina are great and will prepare food for you if you want for a small fee per meal. Fee is per meal and not per person so it's good if you're a big group. You decide upon arrival which meals you want and what time. They will also get groceries and mix drinks. Perfect for groups of 6-10 people. This is a gated community with security on the beach.

Amazing except for rain and seaweed

This really is an amazing property! We got unlucky with the weather and the sargassum seaweed. But the property management was excellent and the staff did well. We enjoyed a few prepared meals that were delicious. They even arranged for a complimentary meal! They arranged for a shuttle to pick us up from the airport and for a rental car to be delivered to the house. It made things so easy! It was a wonderful week in Akumal!

We do recommend that you have water shoes as areas of the beach are very rocky. Gabriel and Christina (house maintenance/cleaners) were amazing. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of dishes, kitchen gadgets, etc. A couple of minor issues while there but nothing that would warrant a lower score. Guest support/services could have been a little more proactive but we managed to find some great restaurants and beach bars in close proximity on our own. Definitely worth checking out. We will be back!

Loved the pool & location. Learning curve was the only issue. Should have rented a car, the taxis were very expensive until we found one that was reasonable at the end of our stay. When I finally contacted Katie about using our cell phones, that issue was resolved. The walk to Akumal along the beach was longer than we were told, plus the rocky sections required shoes. Now a bit smarter, we will definitely consider staying there again. Loco ****** service and support was excellent.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I recently stayed at a stunning beachfront villa in Akumal, Mexico, and it exceeded all expectations. The location was unbeatable, with direct access to a pristine, quiet beach and breathtaking ocean views. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with every modern comfort. The outdoor spaces, including the pool and lounging areas, were perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The beach lounge chairs and bathroom towels are a bit weathered and could be replaced. Oh, and watch out for mosquitos. There are giant ones there. I hired a private chef outside of the Villa as Ericka (La Coqueta) was highly recommended by the locals for providing local, fresh, GF, and Mayan dishes. Her number is +. She made our stay all that extra special as she not only curated amazing breakfast and dinner dishes, she included daily mantras on a small board for us to remember why we were alive. Her staff was attentive and ensured our dietary needs were satisfied. Akumal’s charm and this villa’s luxury made this an unforgettable getaway. Highly recommend!

Beach paradise

This is an excellent rental in Akumal Sur. It easily accommodated my group of 12 people (with room to spare). I highly recommend it. On arrival, Gabi (house caretaker) had already purchased some starter supplies and made a delicious chicken fajita lunch on the next day. We only used Gabi and Cristina's cooking services on two occasions. Although their menu is limited, the food was well prepared. For our other meals, we either used Chef Daveed catering (which is consistently excellent) or ventured out into Tulum/Akumal. On arrival, the house was clean. The furniture was in good condition and beds comfortable. The pool--although not heated--was great. If there is a critique, it is that the house caretakers were not proactive in cleaning the interior of the house. When I've rented other houses in the area, the caretakers would refresh the house every day (dishes, empty bathroom trash, sweeping, replenishing towels). It took a few days into my rental for me to realize that I needed to ask for these services. Once I asked for these services, it happened (and they did a great job)...but I wish that I knew this info at the start of the rental (which is why I am sharing my experience).Overall, this is a terrific rental. There's direct water access in front of the house. The snorkeling in front of the house can be amazing (on sunny days). Bring water shoes. Enjoy!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed here with 10 friends and family. House was clean and comfortable. And the location was absolutely fantastic. We payed for a boat to take us out to the reef and unfortunately that reef looks really sick. But the sea life and plants at the beach where the house is looks great! So many fish to see , water warm and clear. Great for swimming and snorkeling. We spent hours every day in the ocean. The pool is very nice also, but you can't beat the sea. We were mostly an older group and the only possible criticism I could have is that there are no railings on any of the stairs and the paving in the entry is very uneven. (one in our party is 90yo). The caretakers are very helpful and great cooks. We had them make dinners and we ate leftovers for breakfast and lunch. I ordered groceries with Roger before our arrival. Hoping th return next April!
