Hi Craig, i just wanted to personally reach out and apologise for the two issues you experienced whilst staying at our home. Whilst we do always try our absolute hardest to present a great holiday home to our guests, unfortunately we may not always get things perfect. We 1oo% encourage and appreciate feedback as it helps us to improve in areas that we otherwise would not know. Upon speaking to our cleaning team about the issue of drain odour, we were told that previous guests who had just departed chose to clean fish in the laundry sink, I suspect this may be the cause. Had we have known this prior to your arrival, all measures would have been undertaken, as is this case now. With regard to the dog poo on the lawn, Although we have a gardening team that maintains the yard on a fortnightly roster, We are also at the mercy of previous guests ensuring they clean up after their pets too. Unfortunately also, as the yard is not fully fenced we are unable to stop other dogs from entering. The lawn area and house was inspected prior to your arrival and was definitely all clear.. but, I have recently noticed a neighbours dog from up the hill strays into the yard during late hours, which I suspect has occurred during your stay. I know this information may be cold comfort, but I hope it goes some way to help in providing an explanation. Again, we appreciate your review although it may be a good consideration in the future to reach out to the host during your stay if there is issues in order to provide them a chance to rectify. Unfortunately the short term rental market is less forgiving than traditional reviews of hotels and result in the algorithm dropping a listing down in rank.
