Venice is known as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World, so beach walks often turn into treasure hunts. Historic Downtown Venice is less than a mile away, offering boutique shopping, waterfront dining, parks, and beautiful Italian Renaissance-style architecture. Brohard Paw Park, one of the only dog-friendly beaches in the Sarasota area, is just about a mile away, and both Venice Beach and Sharky's on the Pier are within easy biking distance.

Inside, this bright and welcoming seaside duplex comfortably sleeps four. The living room features high ceilings, classic terrazzo floors, comfortable seating, high-speed WiFi, and a large flat-screen TV with streaming capability. Greast place to stay

We loved this place. Very close to beaches and downtown Venice. It is a beautiful neighborhood great for taking walks. There is a private beach (Golden Beach) that is only for the neighborhood and it is very peaceful and quiet. Excellent location and cute, comfortable rental.

Excellent place in a fabulous spot

This rental had everything we needed and is in a beautiful neighborhood about 1/2 mile from the beach. We enjoyed morning walks to the beach and going to Sharky's which is about 2 miles down the road. It's a peaceful, quiet, high end neighborhood that is residential and beautiful. Love the Terazzo floors and the big lanai out back to enjoy the backyard and fresh air. Great place!!

We loved our unit . We had everything we needed and more. The back porch was our favorite spot . The location couldnt have been better. We loved access to Golden beach ,beautiful beach ,not too crowded. I also needed help a couple times and called.The people at the office were so nice and very helpful, best customer service I've ever received. We will definitely use them again. I give this a 10 out of 10

The great: This Venice accommodation was quaint, comfortable and very close to everything Venice has to offer. The eh: The price for this one bedroom unit (separate living room, kitchen, laundry rooms) was acceptable but comparable to 2 bedroom homes in the area. The yuck: The bedding had unknown stains/spots on the fitted sheet, sheet and a pillow. There was also a yuck spot on the couch. Not sure how they were missed by the cleaners but … yuck. Overall, after WE tidied up a bit (washed the sheets etc…), we enjoyed the stay and the location was the key. Had a GREAT couple of Meg dives with Aristakat charters, just down the road and it was nice to walk to Venice Ave (restaurants, shops, etc) and truly enjoy Venice.

I love this place!

This rental is an adorable duplex right on Harbor Drive which is a very desirable location in Venice. It is comfortable, bright, and has everything we need. Floors are terrazzo which I love. There is a nice lanai to sit outside. Best of all there is a private neighborhood beach just for the neighborhood residents (Golden Beach) that is only 5 blocks away. The beach is very quiet and beautiful. House is also very close to Sharky's and all of the fun restaurants and shops on Venice Ave. love it!!!

Cute & Convenient but...

Pros: The size was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. It is older but loved the terrazzo floors and the large back porch. It looks just like the pictures. They have added a large dresser in the bedroom. Beautiful neighborhood, close to beach and shopping and I felt safe walking our dog alone. Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals were Wonderful and very responsive. Cons: The house's wiring is old so electrical outlets are an issue. I bring an extension cord because we have run into this before. It does need work to make it more up-to-date. The windows are old jalousie crank and do not buffer any sound. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher but I don't mind hand washing dish. It could be much nicer with sanding and a coat of really good paint on the cabinets to make it look nicer even though they're old. The backyard needs some tlc. We clean up after our pet but there was a lot of animal poop in the backyard which is disconcerning and it is not fenced. We would probably stay there again and definitely rent from Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals.

Golden Beach Haven

This is our second year staying here and some of the same things from our first stay have not been addressed. Upon arrival the floor mats in the bathroom were disgusting. My wife immediately washed them as she did the year prior. There is no pull tab for the closet light in the bedroom closet (same as last year). Shelf paper in the kitchen drawers would be a good touch. The location is great and it works well for just my wife and I and our dog. The weather the first half of January was brutally bad (not your fault), so if we stay again we would be looking more like the last two weeks of January.

Great location! Walking distance and easy access to downtown, the beach, dog beach, parks and Publix. Suggest leaving more bathroom soap and shampoo. We thought there was a Keurig. Instead it was a coffee machine that required special coffee pods. Cleanliness could have been much better. LR looked dirty. Refrigerator on the outside needed to be wiped down. Suggest leaving directions on TV usage. TV in bedroom did not work. Some spiders were visible. Overall it was good.

Mixed message

The house is absolutely beautiful - the porch is lovely and our dog loved the back yard. Glad we could bring him. The floors were filthy - the first day I walked barefoot and my feet were black!! An ironing board but no iron - It took several days to get the TV to work and we are not used to streaming....Bedroom TV never worked. Radio did not work. Bed not the most comfy and high to get out of. However, impressive that a duplex and we couldn't hear anything - it is certainly well supplied! BUT, we will not come back - much more expensive than where we used to stay on Longboat (damaged by the hurricanes)

A cute, little 1 br, 1 ba in a great location (close to beach, restaurants, grocery store). Our favorite part may have been the screened-in porch. Our little pup (who is normally anxious) was extremely relaxed here - I think he wanted to move in. I would recommend this place to anyone.
