Elegant 2 bedroom 900 square foot suite built by master craftsman in the lower level of house. 8 foot ceilings. King-size bed in one bedroom and Queen-size bed in other bedroom. One full bathroom with heated tiles, soaker tub and shower. Lots of hot water. Walking distance to fabulous restaurants, pubs, cafés, vintage and boutique shopping. 8 minute drive to float planes. 5 minute drive to VIU. 15 minute drive to ferries, hospital, airport. 1.4 km to Hullo ferry. Several parks nearby, some with seasonal waterfalls. Free off-street parking and three steps down to suite entry. Private gated patio is a perfect space to chill. Suite is cozy in winter, cool in summer. Washer and dryer within suite. A complete kitchen with dining table that seats 4. Dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishes and cookware. Kicking Horse Coffee, Tea, cream, and sugar provided gratis for your enjoyment. Oak floors throughout. Comfortable Scandinavian furniture in living room. Original local art. A fresh and clean environment. A central place to stay within the city. Nanaimo is well situated on the island from which to take day trips.

Beautifully kept property, with nice decor and a comfortable bed. The location is great, walking distance to the downtown and water. The host is friendly , helpful and quick to respond. I highly recommend !

It was a pleasure to host this couple. They were very quiet and respectful and out most of the time. They left the suite in perfect condition and we had a nice chat with him when they were leaving. We welcome them back anytime.

An absolute gem! Maureen and Phil offer an impeccable stay experience. The suite is fresh, clean, tastefully decorated and offers such a comfortable environment it’s hard to leave! No detail is missed here. We have stayed in many rentals in many places and this one sits in our top two! If we’re able to make our way back to Nanaimo this is where we’d hands down stay again.

Phil and Maureen are exceptional hosts and their garden suite is exquisite! Not only does it have everything you need for a pleasant stay, but the interior design and furnishings are very high-end and artistic. Maureen and Phil were such gracious hosts. We loved their cozy and clean suite. It was beautifully decorated and the sheets were so comfy I had to look up the brand to get myself a pair! Maureen provided great recommendations and delicious treats during our stay. The location was great to walk down to the waterfront and explore the old city quarter. Would highly recommend and would look forward to coming back if we're in town again.

The suite was beautiful and homey. The fireplace was so warm and cosy. Maureen and Phil paid great attention to creature comforts and details. Very nice property. Very clean, newly renovated. The beds are comfortable. Really enjoyed the fireplace and the patio. Maureen and Phil were great hosts and we loved the baked goods.

Fabulous place to stay

This accommodation is just amazing as are the hosts. Quiet peaceful location with excellent facilities. Maureen and Phil were so helpful and the added extras of freshly baked cookies, homemade bath salts and sprays were very much appreciated. Highly recommend this accommodation

A beautiful and lovely apartment, cosy and thoughtful arranged, with art and a nice outdoor space looking in the garden. Maureen and Phil are the perfect hosts, spoiling every guest with baked goods and nice little chats, giving great advice where to go for dinner or walks. Short visit

We were in town for a short professional conference. We were impressed with the level of care and consideration evident throughout the suite, from the artwork to the extra blankets and beautiful plantings outside. I would definitely stay here again for a future trip to Nanaimo.

East coast meets west coast! The beauty of living in a temperate rainforest is that we are always close to beautiful gardens and lush forests. This climate is perfect for our gardening endeavors. Our front garden contains many flowers and our back garden grows our vegetables and fruit trees. We love being outside and near the water. Nanaimo and Vancouver Island have so much to offer.

Our neighbourhood is in the centre of the Old City Quarter: not directly in the downtown core, but close. There are many older homes on our streets. We are close to the best restaurants in Nanaimo. Everything is walking distance to us.

Our house has the look of an older Cape Cod home, but it was built in 2007. This gives the comfort of a newer building, but in the interesting style of the neighbourhood. The suite is decorated with locally made art. We care about your comfort. The mattresses are wonderful. We provide lots of bedding. We use Bamboo sheets … the best! You can relax by the fire, or you can be outside on the patio and enjoy the garden in your own space. We are friendly but respect your privacy, We welcome everyone.
