I stayed here with my family, as a base to explore Ghent, Kortrijk and to also go on cycle rides. The setting is very rural but stunning and very quiet. The cottage is part of a shared complex with a shared pool. However, the way it is laid out means that you have a lot of private space, and I felt that Owl cottage had the best spot of them all. We sat out every evening in the shaded eating area outside the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofa area was comfortable. The bedrooms were well laid out and again the beds were comfortable. The pool was larger than expected and was very welcome during the heatwave. There was a nice lounging area around the pool as well. The host made us feel very welcome and was very quick to respond to any queries as they arose. The check in and out process could not have been any easier. We loved our 5 days here, even though the cycling was a little bit hillier to what we expected!

- gite was not completely clean. Table surface and floor weee sticky. Cobwebs all over the gite and felt dusty. - the gite is not advertised as being part of a complex of 3 separate gites. The pool is not advertised as being a shared pool. - there are restrictions on the times you can use the pool which is not in the advertisement for the property. - advertised as having washer and dryer but these belong to the owner and were locked away. When I asked to use then the owner’s daughter did give us access. - areas of the gite shown in the advertiser are outside other gites in the complex and we’re not all communal areas. - there were several mice in the downstairs of the property.

great weekend getaway

The house is cosy and spacious and offers plenty of opportunities for both an active and a quiet holiday. This is a terrific property that combines the charm of a tastefully decorated home with all modern amenities. Everything in the house works and works well, the beds and pillows are comfortable, the kitchen really is fully equipped (there's even a nespresso coffee machine!), everything in the house is of good quality. But most importantly the hostess Barbara is extremely helpful and highly responsive. What a perfect location for us to have so many great day trips -Tournai -Lille-Brussels - Brugges - the list goes on! Hope to get back to this area soon. Thanks for helping make such great memories!! Being able to spend our days in easy distance to our location and then to have such a great place to come back to each evening helped keep our vacation relaxing!! The surroundings are ideal for walking, biking and long boarding. Facilities for shopping etc. are not far away. The owners were very kind and obliging, during our stay as well as afterwards, and clearly appreciate having guests who care for their rural and distinctive property. We truly had an outstanding stay and look forward to returning again. Thanks Barbara!

un endroit charmant à conseiller les yeux fermés..

un endroit charmant au calme et en pleine campagne et pourtant tout proche de toutes les infrastructures (autoroutes, magasins,...). Beaucoup de balades à faire à pieds, à cheval, à vélo, ... dans un cadre splendide avec des paysages magnifiques! Gîte très bien entretenu, décoré avec un goût certain et surtout "cosy" avec des propriétaires sympathiques qui restent disponibles pour vous et très à l'écoute de vos moindres besoins. Nous n'avons qu'une seule chose à vous dire... même si vous habitez le coin...vous serez dépaysés et surtout reposés...

séjour en gîte

la location est très bien, le confort y est, literies , sanitaires, espace de vie, la location est bien entretenue(2 WC ) 2 salles de bain.Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques.Beaucoup de balades à faire, GR autour du gîte, beau paysage., Nous sommes allés à Tournai, proche de ce gîte pour l'accrobranche, piscine, visites touristiques. Il y a un centre de soins de bien être à Kain (Octavie): on peut y louer la piscine. C'est un lieu où il y a beaucoup de chevaux , dans les pâtures environnantes. Merci, nous sommes ravis de ce séjour et le recommanderons à d'autres personnes.

Nice place, if you can find it.

The major problem is finding this property. Once you get to Beclerc, you'll need a very good GPS in your car. And you certainly need a car; this place is in the boondocks of Belgium. However, the family who own the place are accommodating and friendly and they'll make sure you know where the nearest grocery store and service station are, and eventually, you can start to feel at home in the area. It's idea for visiting war graves and monuments, Vimy, Beaumont-Hamel, Menin Gate in Ieper, and Dieppe, Juno and Dunkirk and make sure to save a day-trip for the beautiful city of Brugge. The property is comfortable, well equipped and pleasant, and well worth the price. You'll enjoy it - once you find it.
