Sobre esta propriedade
Mid Century 60's beach house close to beach
We have called our house 'Bombora'- a nod to its 1960's origins. ( Bombora is an indigenous word for a surf break located some distance from the shoreline- it is also the name of a song by the group 'The Atlantics' released in 1963)
We have painstakingly refurbished this gorgeous mid century home to be true to its era, a true walk back in time. We hope you enjoy the clean modern lines of the house along with the large floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood the home. Our home is filled with vintage finds that compliment the house's era and make for a fun and casual feel throughout. The dog friendly backyard and spacious undercover patio area make our house welcoming to all. We are central to fabulous beaches, golf clubs, hot springs, wineries and more.
Property details: On entering our house you will walk into the open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The home is filled with new and vintage finds that suit the mid-century holiday home era.
Lounge/ dining: Relax in this space and be warmed by the gas log fire in winter. In summer a split system air conditioning unit will keep you cool. Our dining table and chairs are an original Grant Featherstone set, bought by the family from Myers in 1965. We can remember eating many special dinners around this table and hope that our guests make similar family memories.
Kitchen: This room contains an original layout and cupboards, albeit with a bright painted update. We hope you enjoy using the new retro styled 900mm cooker with gas cook top and fan forced electric oven. There is also a new retro styled fridge freezer. A full pantry along with microwave, toaster, kettle, Nutri-bullet and coffee machines bring the space into modern times and make it spacious and easy to use. The kitchen is equipped with enough cutlery and crockery and cooking equipment needed by a family of 6.
Bedrooms: The bedrooms are accessed by the Axminster carpeted hallway is original to the house and continues into the spacious main bedroom. Here you will find north facing full length windows and a comfortable queen bed with hotel quality cotton bedding.
Bedroom 1: This spacious room has a wall of wardrobes for guest convenience and a sunny outlook facing north through the large window, A full block out blind is also fitted. A queen size bed is complimented by hotel quality linen and covers.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom contains original polished floorboards and 2 single beds along with a mid-century Alrob chest of draws as well as hanging hooks behind the door. There are bedside lamps and games here to keep everyone entertained.
Bedroom 3: . The third bedroom also has polished floorboards and an original diamond padded double bed head and matching chest of draws. This rooms overlooks the backyard and is sheltered by a gorgeous deciduous tree that provide shade in summer and allows beautiful light to filter through in winter. A block out blind and original bedside lamps help make this bedroom very comfortable.
The hallway also has an unusual separate shower room, updated bathroom with bath and separate toilet.
Outside: The lounge area opens to a full-length patio where guests can dine and relax in year-round comfort. There is a gas BBQ to enjoy if you choose as well as an expansive fully fenced backyard allowing plenty of space to play.
Accessibility Our house has a side drive with enough space for 2 cars. Behind a secure gate in an undercover carport with space for another smaller car. Along Nepean highway a free car park of some 60+ line-marked car spaces is provided to service the stunning Rosebud Beach and foreshore area, Rotary Park, users of the Bay Trail, and shoppers.
Foreshore parking is available with easy access to picnic facilities dotted within and all around the car parking area, and, no roads to cross to access the beach, it makes for a safe and convenient parking facility – especially when the children are around.
The beach is 800meters from the house, a 10 - 15 minute walk.
Other notes: Please note this is our family beach house and not a hotel, we have filled our home with personal items we adore. Please treat our beach shack with respect as you would your own home, if you are after modern bling this may not be for you however if you want an authentic vintage experience we think you will love Bombora'. While we love our furry friends they must be kept outside in the fully fenced backyard. Any damage or extra cleaning will result in costs incurred.
