Sobre esta propriedade

Quiet Retreat near Yosemite and Pine Mountain lake located in a gated community

Our lovely one-level 1900+ sq. ft (180+ sq. m.) house was built in 2007 on the edge of the gated Pine Mountain Lake community. It is just 2.5 hours drive from San Francisco. We remodeled and built 600 sq. ft deck for those who prefer sky over vaulted ceilings. All bedrooms are of equal size with master having balcony, and deep tub. Kitchen is spacious, there's WiFi and 70" TV. The lake has 3 swimming beaches & boat rental. Yosemite entrance is 25 miles away. Linens & towels are provided.

This is our gated community vacation house we sometimes visit. It is well equipped and furnished. Guests are provided with towels, linens, comforters, kitchenware, etc. You will find beds with mattresses of different firmness from firm to soft and good pillows. The kitchen is spacious and aside from typically expected, is equipped with rice cooker, toaster, and blender. Living room has a gas fireplace. Powerful central AC/air heater and 50-gallon water heater make your stay reliably pleasant :) Master bathroom has deep bathtub. There is a 70" TV with HDMI inputs and a media player into which you can plug a USB drive with common movie file formats like .mkv or .avi. You are welcome to bring your laptop or other source of video/movies. There's no cable TV service, but there is BlueRay/DVD player and some disks to pay. The Wifi internet raverages 500Mbps. There's a patio table with 8 chairs outside on the deck and two hammocks. You are welcome to use propane grill (gas provided). Backyard has fire-pit area with chairs.

The house is in a gated community with a golf course, seasonal heated swimming pool (May-October), the lake's three swimming beaches that get really warm to swim in summer, hiking trails near by, tennis courts, horse tables, and much more. We can advise on many possible day activities and places to go at different times of the year. Yosemite Park entrance is 30 minutes drive away, but there are many other attractions in proximity. Historical Gold Rush towns, multiple caves, Tuolumne river canyon, mountain lakes, white water rafting are just the first things that come to my mind. Wintertime, you can snowshoe and cross country, and downhill ski at Yosemite. Downhill skiing/snowboarding is possible with a little over an hour drive to either Dodge Ridge or Yosemite's Badger Pass ski resorts. For the little ones there are FREE "adventures" near by, like a 5min drive to airport to see airplanes take off and land, horse stables to touch a horse's nose, 3min drive to playground with a slide, swings, and sandbox, or feeding trout at Moccasin Creek Hatchery (think of it as your free aquarium, just 15min drive away :) Kids 5 and under ride free in Railtown 1897 steam train found in Jamestown, a 25 min drive away from our home. During summer youngsters enjoy around-the-lake water taxi rides. Seeing Milky Way behind countless stars on a moonless night is captivating. There's plenty to see and do for folks of all ages no matter the season!

We value your privacy. We are available to help you with advise via SMS, and might be able to arrange friends at Groveland or in person, lending you a hand if need be.
You are welcome to use our 3-burner propane grill with side warmer (we provide spare propane tank to make sure you don't run out of gas.

Wintertime concrete driveway becomes icy - thus use stairs going alongside the driveway.
Wheelchair access is possible with help of two people to lift up wheelchair up 3 stairs (or with use of ramps) and to make sure wheelchair descent is safe down 18 degree driveway. Bathroom doors horizontal clearance is 26".

We oftentimes see more deer passing by, than cars on our street, and neighbors are very quiet.

IMPORTANT: The house is in a gated community (with the GATE FEE described in the house rules) which you can only enter though Pine Mountain Drive gated entrance with the address: 19228 Pine Mountain Dr, Groveland, CA 95321. If you disregard the above direction, be prepared to arrive at a closed unattended gate, as your GPS might guide you there!
There's space for 3 cars to park (please park on our gravel covered parking spaces looking downhill, NOT up. Driving uphill you can get stuck in gravel. Park downhill instead, and drive off downhill stress-free :)
The closest place to buy groceries is Mar-Val Food store in Groveland.

Sobre o anfitrião

Anfitrião: Michael

My qualities are easy to remember as they all start with "R":
Reliable, Reasonable, Responsible, Responsive, and Respectful. My wife says I am Romantic (but that is a whole other story :)

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

Fresh clean air. Lake and swimming pool for swimming. Gated community where I feel safe. A great getaway form stresses. Yosemite near by, plus a ton to explore. The house is on the edge of the community where we see more deer than cars passing by.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

I own this property for over a decade and know the area and the community well.
Below I'll describe the problems my house DOES NOT have.
Hills, and more hills is what you find here, with houses chiseled into them, but at times awkwardly. You can find parking problems such as damaging your car bumper getting to the house parking, or being unable to drive to or from the house after occasional snowfall (3 to 5 snows a season). My house does not have "too steep" parking problems.
Some houses are close to noisy streets. My house has more deer and turkeys pass by than people or cars combined.
Some houses have steep stairs that make you worry if my kid or my mom will fall downstairs. My house is one level.
Some houses have a deck only. Mine has front and rear deck.
Some houses don't have AC (worst choice ever May through October). Many houses have those wall ACs that are there only to disappoint as they are underpowered 110volt units, giving you only noise instead of cooling. Ductless mini-split air conditioning system are not much better as you need to turn on a bunch of them and then wait for noisy hour after hour to feel the effect. My house has a dedicated reliable no-human-drama central AC.
Most houses have 40-gallon water heater tanks and some got 30, which means who ever takes shower third "enjoys" a cold shower. My house has a 50-gallon water heater.
Most of the houses were built in 1970s and 1980s, thus the classic setup is that you have vaulted ceiling in the living room and then the 7 foot (2m 40cm) ceilings in every other room. My house has has vaulted and tall ceilings.
And the last but not least, the most common year a house was built in Pine Mountain Lake community (located in Groveland) is 1970's year. Yes, old houses which don't always get the attentions and maintenance they deserve. I do maintain my house, and if you see something that needs attention, please do tell me ASAP. And by the way, my house was build in 2007.
