a rare find

Tucked back in the woods, away from any highway sound. So quiet that I had to unplug the clock because the second hand was annoying me :) Cabin was rustic, but well-kept and very clean. The camp host was great & super helpful. There's a million movies you can take to your cabin for free - as well as a huge selection of boardgames. (This was nice since the rain kept us indoors one of the days)

Peaceful and relaxing

My husband and I were looking for a birthday weekend getaway and booked this place at the last minute. It was our first time to the area and we were not sure what to expect. However, we had a surprisingly quiet and peaceful time here. We checked out some local hiking spots over at Scenic State Park and Suomi Hills. The fall colors along Hwy 38 were simply spectacular and hikes were refreshing. We enjoyed ourselves and would come back again.

Super cute and rustic

Loved the little Lakeview cabin! Very nice but still feels like you’re up north! very easy to use the kayaks, canoes, etc... would totally go back!

Private, quiet

Highly recommend. Private setting, beautiful lake, clean cabin, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lake is perfect for canoeing and kayaking. If you want an authentic Minnesota northwoods cabin getaway, this is it.

Lovely Northern Minnesota Experience

This sweet cabin was well-equipped, neat and clean. The private dock and hammock were nice surprises. Sandy beach with easy access to canoe, kayaks, and float pads. The grounds are simple with charming woods surrounding this cabin. Nice view of the lake. The owners are very pleasant and available if you need something. We would go back!

Relaxing

We had an excellent time at Jack the Horse Resort. Everything in the description of the resort was extremely accurate. We had a great time on the lake and caught plenty of fish. The Lakeview cabin was very accommodating for my wife and myself. Our hosts were available and easy to reach. We did not want to leave. Overall this was one of the best lake vacations we have taken.

LOVE this place! Peaceful, clean, beautiful lake. The cabin had everything you would need. Fully equipped kitchen. It may be a 1940's style cabin (and adorable as can be!) but it is so clean and updated you'd think it was built yesterday. The shower has great pressure and HOT water! The private dock and hammock were a real bonus. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed it at Jack the Horse Resort and in the Lakeview cabin!

Cute little getaway on the lake!

Beautiful little cabin right on the water! We had a very peaceful relaxing five days and the staff is wonderful! Only 3.5 hours away from the city. Only downside is the bed was very uncomfortable.

Beautiful

The lakeside cabin is small (got only one major room and a bathroom) but there is everything you need (full kitchen, table, couch, bed) and it is clean. It is directly located at the lake so that you can see it from the cabin. The landlady is very friendly. You can go swimming at the sand beach of the resort, canoeing and stand-up paddeling for no extra charge.
