Loved our experience in this cabin! We stayed here for a local car gathering at the tail of the dragon and loved being right on the Cherohala Skyway for some quick mountain runs whenever we pleased. We also enjoyed seeing all the other vehicles coming and going throughout the weekend!

Loved this place!

I loved the location, both the view and the nice curvy roads leading to this place were beautiful! It was also very clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I am ready to come back for another visit , and I would stay here again!

It was a good place to stay in, the only draw back was the steep staircase. The place was clean and tidy. A real coffee maker make it even better.

Off the beaten path 😎

Great stay.. quiet and peaceful. Having the garage for the bikes made it like being at home .. and no wet bikes In the morning to wipe down . Ride .. Grill .. then Chill . Thunder Mountain lodge has all the bases covered. 10/10 experience.

Peaceful mountain retreat!

The upper unit at Thunder Mountain has everything you need for a perfect stay! Clean and spacious! Plenty of parking on the grounds, particularly for motorcycles! And, 2 garages for parking as well! Also offers a pressure washer and towels to wash off bikes!One of the smoke alarms needed a battery change when we arrived, in which, the owner was very responsive in taking care of this for us! Outside security cameras and lighting was a plus for us so we felt safe during our stay. Anytime I had a question, the owner was very responsive in which we appreciated very much! Will definitely return to Thunder Mountain on our next trip to the area!

Peaceful getaway

We had a long weekend getaway at Lake Santeetlah and it was lovely. The apartment is charming, spacious, and comfortable, check in was easy, and we had the whole property to ourselves. Actually, we had the whole area to ourselves — barely saw another soul when we went kayaking and hiking. The Cozy Robbinsville Retreat is a short drive to three different boat launches and several hiking trails, including Joyce Kilmer Forest. The lake is stunning and the house was a cozy place to return to after our outings. The only thing it needs is a can opener and a cutting board!

What an awesome place to bring motorcycles!

Absolutely awesome converted rest stop. Perfect place to stay for a motorcycle trip. Enough room to bring a trailer. Storage for motorcycles. On a beautiful road. Wash station to make sure your bikes look good. Awesome “thunder mountain” sign out front. We stayed in the upstairs portion. Down stairs renters were really cool and were able to enjoy company. Plan on making this our spot for my once a year moto trip with my riding group. Was able to cook while we were there. Plenty of pots and pans. Close to town. Closer to the scenic rides. Hosts were very nice and has great communication. Can’t wait to get back!
