2 Fountains Cottage can be found in the small village of Greenhead near Hadrian's Wall, a 5 min drive from Haltwhistle. This beautiful cottage is deceptively spacious and has been renovated to a high standard with beautiful neutral decor and high quality furniture and fixtures.

The living room is filled with comfy seating, a TV for when you are not out exploring, and a log burning stove. The well equipped kitchen has plenty of space to cook and entertain with a breakfast bar for sitting and chatting and a large dining room table for eating family meals. The cottage benefits from having a downstairs toilet and a utility room with a washer and dryer.

Upstairs the main king-size room is spacious and light with views of the village and a full en-suite bathroom, with separate stand alone bath and shower. There are 2 additional bedrooms, another double and a twin. The family bathroom also has a bath and shower attachment. Outside there is a courtyard to the rear with a shed which can store 4 bikes.
There is parking to the front of the cottage and additional parking in the village.

2 Fountains Cottage in located in Greenhead on the Northumberland border. Due to its border location, Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham are within easy reach, making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can begin many walks or cycle routes from the doorstep if you like the outdoors and the military road which runs through Greenhead provides easy access to the historical sites of Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda, House Steads and the Sill, which are all located within 9 miles of the cottage. Greenhead also has lots to offer with a tea room which is located opposite and the pub (The Greenhead Hotel) which serves food, located just a few doors and a farmers market on second Sunday of each month.
Haltwhistle is only a few miles down the main road and has numerous local independent shops, eateries and takeaways as well as small supermarkets.
Local bus transportation is easily accessed from the bus stop on the A69, with a small number running through Greenhead itself and the mainline train stops at Haltwhistle.
Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles, and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
Haltwhistle town centre has a great selection of shops including small supermarkets, butchers, chemist, antique shop, florist, solicitors, estate agents, building society, post office van, library, sports centre and swimming pool, a cottage hospital and doctors’ surgery. There is also a good selection of take away food venues, cafes, local Inns and restaurants.
Haltwhistle prides itself on being the 'Centre of Britain', this small market town is well served by a range of local shops, transport links and excellent pubs. There are 3 castles within a few miles of Haltwhistle; Blenkinsopp and Bellister are ruins, but the 14th Century Thirlwall Castle is well-preserved and worth a visit. Five miles away are the Roman Forts of Housteads and the Vindolanda site, the best-preserved Roman camps on Hadrian's Wall.
Haltwhistle is situated only a few miles from Hexham and can be reached easily by road or rail and is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast and the National Park. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey, offers an abundance of amenities only 12 miles east or travel an extra 20 minutes to sample the vibrant city of Newcastle or try a little retail therapy at the world-renowned Metro Centre or Eldon Square.
The Cumbrian and Scottish borders are close by; Carlisle is only 25 miles west, therefore making it a superb base for those seeking to explore the historic charms of Northumberland coupled with the magnificent Lakeland Fells and Gretna lies 28miles away where you can easily explore the beautiful West Coast and its pretty seaside villages.
