The area is a dream for walkers and cyclists, with well-marked trails leading through open fields, woodlands, and unspoiled countryside toward the Yorkshire Dales (5 miles). Hamsterley Forest (13 miles) is a must-visit for mountain biking enthusiasts, or for a dose of history visit one of the stately homes or castles in the area, such as the medieval Raby Castle, Park and Garden (10 miles). Plan a hike in the Dales, with beauty spots like High Force Falls (21 miles) one of the most impressive waterfalls in England. What’s more, you’ll have an A-road only 1.5 miles from your doorstep, providing easy access in and out for an altogether enjoyable stay.
You’ll find everything is on one level at this cosy retreat, which boasts a welcoming, open-plan living area comprising a lounge, kitchen and dining space. The area is thoughtfully designed with charming wooden beams, sloped ceilings and skylights that flood the room with natural light. Quality wooden furniture and fittings add to the rustic charm. Make use of the Bluetooth speaker and listen to your favourite playlist whilst cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On chilly evenings, spark up the multi-fuel burner and sink into the corner sofa for some quiet time with a book or a spot of TV. The bedroom with a super-king-size bed, complete with an en-suite shower room, sets you up for a restful night’s sleep.
Outside, you’ll find a lovely, enclosed garden with decking, stylish furniture and – the icing on the cake – a hot tub for soaking under the stars and soothing tired legs after a day of walking.
