Annual Motorcycle Trip

We are a group of successful business owners who get together yearly for a motorcycle trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have been making the arrangements for numerous years. We like to stay in comfortable, older homes and support people like us. This house is disgusting! It's not clean, it's unsafe, and the owner/manager is voatile. 1) The main door's keypad did not lock when we left for our ride. 2) There were at least 5 wasp nests and 2 people were literally attacked when they stepped out onto the back deck, resulting in 13 wasp stings! 3) The table, floors, windows, bed sheets and bed spreads were disgustingly dirty. 4) The wifi did not work, when we looked at the modem, the line was rigged together with black electrical tape. No one was able to connect. I reached out to the number that was given me as a contact and started to explain about the door lock and the bees, the man stopped me and said he would call me right back. He did not, so I texted him asking for a callback. No call that night. The following morning I texted him again and he did call back right away. At this point I was frustrated, I ticked off what was going on. He started yelling at me, accusing me of wanting to sleep in his house for free, of being a thief and trying to steal from him, he is a hard-working, peaceful man and it is people like me who are worthless and he hung up. Never addressed any issues. We bought wasp spray, couldn't lock up our belongings, and cleaned.

Cleanliness

We had a terrible experience with cleanliness. One of the friends we came with complained of a bad smell coming from her bedroom. We tried to find the source of the smell but to no avail. The next day, we decided to check under her bed and that's when we found two dead mice. On top of that, others in our group found that some of the bed sheets were not washed. We found black footprints on the bed. So disgusting

Ok. Is a fixer upper

I reminded myself that this has 7 bedrooms. That was very spacious. Big yard. Just wish the description would have been more accurate. Positives: 7 bedrooms! AC was great. Hot water heater kept up for 7 people (at least) to shower in the morning. Huge yard. Spacious! Plenty of plates/bowls/coffee cups. Close to town but far enough away to feel secluded. Negatives: no oven. No dishwasher. Kitchen was not stocked - pans/cooking needs- for large groups. We had to cook in rounds to accommodate our larger group. We had to buy cleaning supplies as the first night our feet were black from walking on the floors barefoot. The deck - although it looks like it was just put in - had bolts exposed and looked like a rush job. There were nail/tacks exposed on the bottom steps to the basement. This appears to be a fixer upper rental property. It has great potential with some extra investments. We just made the best of it and thankful for being able to spread out. Overall, we felt we were a step above roughing it for the week.

Celebration of milestone for my mother who was celebrating her 80th birthday.

Upon arrival to the premises we thought we had the wrong house as the grass was overgrown and the house looked abandoned. Upon entry, the house was not cleaned. Despite the furnishings and the kitchen being outdated, nothing was cleaned. The kitchen counters, kitchen table, rugs were filthy. One of the bathrooms had paint peeling from the top and all the bedrooms (both upstairs and downstairs) had bed linen that was dingy and not cleaned. The downstairs bedrooms were molded and the hot tub was unusable. The owners were contacted however their response was that the cleaners did not do their job. Yet our fees included cleaning. Our first day was spent purchasing cleaning supplies, towels, and bed linen. This was an awful experience and we would not recommend anyone renting this property as the owners take no pride in ownership nor hold their cleaning company accountable. They falsely advertised that the premises was newly renovated. It was a horrible experience. This definitely deserved a 1/2 star not 1.

Plenty of room

We enjoyed our stay here. The house had plenty of room. They have been updating the house. We had an issue with the downstairs a/c not working and the owner did get it fixed in a timely manner. Some of the TV's did not work tho, and there is no oven, which would of been nice to know because we had some food that required an oven. We liked the location of the house as it wasn't right in busy Gatlinburg but not far from it. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

All in all it was good place just wish I was closer to downtown!!

It was a nice place just wished there was firewood and the gras was cut and trimmed but enjoyed the space!!

Mr Patel was very accommodating. He checked on us on our drive down, we texted when we checked in as well as he called the next morning to see how our stay thus far was. The house is being done but was perfect enough for us .clean and comfty. Thanks again Mr Patel from Hubby and Myself. ~Crystal
