This lovely home, new to the rental market, is immaculate and tastefully furnished. Our open Living and Dining Room concept will make you feel like you are right at home with plenty of seating for everyone, with waterfront views through oversized sliding doors overlooking the patio and canal. The kitchen offers granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and is very well equipped with a drip coffee pot, Keurig, toaster, cookware, and fully stocked with every item to make your stay feel like home. Enjoy the large flatscreen TV in the living room or enjoy sitting on the patio enjoying the sea breeze and the shade of the palm trees.

The master bedroom and one guest room each have a King bed and large flat screen TVs. The third bedroom offers a bunk bed (twin over full) and a daybed (that converts to a King if needed), as well as a crib for the little ones.

There is water and electric at the 37.5' dock with a bait freezer if needed and a fish cleaning table to clean your fresh catch of the day. Brand new grill is available to grill that catch of the day on the patio with seating for everyone. The property also comes with 4 bicycles and 2 kayaks.

This property also includes membership in the Cabana Club, with a large pool, bar, restaurant, and beach access. Public beaches nearby. Key Colony Beach offers safe, quiet streets for biking and walking, par 3 golf course, tennis courts, and local restaurants. Fabulous area for snorkeling, SCUBA diving, saltwater fishing, kayaking, and SUP (stand-up paddle boarding).

Nice place

Cute place with updated kitchen. We enjoyed the bikes and kayaks! The only thing that needs replacing is the couch. Couch is cute to look at but is not comfortable at all to sit on.

Thanksgiving in paradise!

We had an amazing time and the property was awesome. My only complaint is that they had pans for baking or roasting to make the Thanksgiving meal. Luckily there was a Dollar Tree down the road and we picked up what we needed.

Nice location

We loved the location, but the place definitely needs a new couch that is actually comfortable to sit on. We had to buy our own skillet and baking sheet to use while there. Bring all the basics with you like toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, salt/pepper, oil, spices…. if any were provided (most was not) it was in a minuscule amount.

Great Location, Easy Access, Not Clean

Key Colony is a perfect location for a boaters vacation. I’m posting a long detailed review, and I’d consider both pros vs cons before booking if I were you. We stayed here for 2 weeks. This house has a dock with fresh water and a cleaning station along a wide canal that makes for easy turnaround. As for the outside of this property, it is well kept up for the most part. It was surrounded with crushed coral gravel which makes it a little hard to walk on when carrying things in/out of the house. The grill is in good shape as of 12/2022, however the property manager said he didn’t think there was any propane and we’d have to fill it if we wanted to use the grill…I felt that was cheap on their behalf,..it should be full as it is every other place we’ve stayed in Marathon,..so used our own grill that we keep on our boat. Inside the house we found the kitchen to be totally stocked with newer utensils, appliances, and plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, etc. The kitchen has been remodeled recently and everything worked and was mostly clean upon arrival. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very dated even loose tiles and grout on walls…and upon arrival were NOT very clean at all. Hair on floor of bathrooms, dust bunnies in corners of bedrooms and under beds, ceiling fans dusty, area rug stained and nasty, dirty vents,…you get the picture. The AC is not balanced very well. In the main master, you will be froze out at night to try and keep the other 2 bedrooms at a medium cool all night. The upside to that is the AC does blow very cold! There is a separate AC unit in the living room area that does a fair job cooling the living, dining and kitchen areas. Washer and Dryer work great. All of the furniture in the house is cheap, rickety and very uncomfortable…some of it broken. Bait freezer in the garage is nice but a bit hard access because of so much stuff in there. The Pool at the Cabana is really nice. Great Staff and strong drinks at a reasonable price! There is a full time resident in the other side of this duplex. She WILL engage you in conversation so if you prefer to be left alone, that’s something to factor in. Plus she has a foul mouth with zero filter. The property manager required a $1000 refundable deposit at booking. It took 3 weeks for this to be processed after I called/messaged multiple times, very annoying but we finally got it. Overall we had another great marathon vacation and will return,…but we will not stay at this house again.

Thanksgiving in the keys

The house served its purpose but definitely lacked on household items and decor. No baking items pretty hard to cook Thanksgiving dinner with nothing to go into oven. Bathroom towels where all mismatch not a nice matching set.

Bad experience

Key Colony Realty is the property manager for this unit. My family and I (5 people) stayed at this property for 2 weeks. When we arrived there were 3 stained bath towels. After traveling all day we were all looking forward to showers. The property mgr sent the maid over and she said she needed to do a head count. A HEAD COUNT??? I couldn't believe that for all of the rent we paying I had to argue about towels. Finally, the maid went out and bought towels. The silverware was ridiculous! This was mentioned in a prior review. Then we noticed it was very hot in the unit. This was also mentioned in a prior review and apparently the problem was ignored. An AC tech came out that night and said the coils had not been cleaned in a very long time and that was the problem. He said not to put the thermostat any lower than 76. There was a window unit in the living room that helped and they reluctantly brought us fans. Not acceptable for the money we were paying. Then one night at midnight one of my party took a shower and turned the water off and the handle came off in his hand with water gushing out all over the floor. Everybody was up by then and thankfully we found where to turn the water off. The plumber came the next am. The patio furniture was dilapidated and the umbrella did not work properly. We sat on the wooden chaise lounge - no cushions-and it cracked. There was a broken sand bag and a concrete block on the umbrella base to keep it upright. I called to let them know about the umbrella and chaise lounge-that we would deal with it ( we were tired of all of the problems and workers coming out for repairs) but not to charge me for it. Of course, no one recalls the conversation. They retained money out of out of my deposit for a brand new umbrella and chaise lounge!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE This unit could be nice if it was maintained properly. That is what the property manager is supposed to do. The owner of this unit might want to look into getting a new property manager.

Great location and nice place

This was a great place and took full advantage of the cabana club after a hot day. Central location on the Keys. We went to Key West and Islamadora too. I also like that this is a one story as I have trouble with stairs.

We loved taking the kayaks to Curry Hammock State Park and it was also nice having bikes to ride. We would have liked to have a few extra pots and pans in the kitchen. It was a bit tough cooking for 7, but we made it work. I should also mention that one bedroom stays considerably warmer than the other two bedrooms. Overall it was a great place to stay and we would choose it again.

The property sits on a pretty canal that accesses the ocean and Gulf in a matter of minutes. All the comforts of home as far as kitchen supplies. Beds were comfortable. Master bathroom is a little dated, but the shower worked fine and always had hot water, even after four showers in a row.

Great place to stay on Marathon

We really enjoyed our stay in Key Colony Beach! The house was roomy & comfortable. It worked so well for the 4 of us. The patio & dock area was very nice to spend our mornings & some evening time. Beautiful space.
