Overview

Oak Bend Cottage is the perfect country solution to your de-stressing needs. This cottage has lots of charm and it offers a lovely mountain view off the front porch and a firepit to enjoy on cool evenings. It is located on a working Amish farm with horses and sheep in the pastures surrounding the cottage. There are two bedrooms and one bath. The access to the second bedroom is through the first, making it perfect for families with young children or other intimate gatherings.

Oak Bend Cottage truly is a unique experience. It offers two bedrooms and one bath. It is on an active Amish farm that take you back in time and will give you all the tranquility and quietness you need. The views are tremendous!
You also are welcome to bring apples and carrots to feed the sheep and the horses that come up to the yard. They will be you best friends in no time.
There is no TV at the cottage but you do have free Wi-Fi and great Verizon cell service and you are welcome to bring your own devices.
As listed in the description, the second bedroom is access by walking through the first bedroom. So you want to keep that in consideration before you book.
There is lots of hiking trails, recreation, eating and shopping options available within a few minutes of the cottage. Those will be listed in the "what to do" section of this listing.

If your check-out date falls on a Sunday, we offer free 6:00 PM Sunday checkout. It's our way of saying thank you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- We kindly ask that there are no fireworks, loud music, or rowdy behavior.

- Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

- Please be aware you will be charged 10% of the total trip at booking and the remaining 90% will be charged to the card on file, thirty days before check-in.

Location

Oak Bend Cottage is located in the heart of a rural Amish community. The people are very friendly and they look out for each other if there is a need. You will feel like that the time has turned back 75 years in the neighborhood. In the morning you will see children walking to school with their lunch boxes swing as they chatter and then they return in the same manner in the afternoon. The Amish school is located approximately a quarter miles across the field.

Perfect for us ...

Neat & clean, this small home was perfect for my friend and me. It's located on a farm in a farming community, but being winter, the animals were not in evidence. We did hear the ubiquitous farm dog from time to time. Love it!

This was such a pleasant place to stay!

The house was very clean and smelled so good! It was quiet and peaceful! The towels were large. The beds were very clean (my daughter, who is picky about the sheets she sleeps on, had no problem sleeping here). The muffins they left for us were a thoughtful idea and tasty! The air conditioning did a great job. It was a little different to get to the second bedroom through the first bedroom. The curtains that were there for privacy was a good idea! We would stay here again, gladly!

quiet getaway

The home was perfect for our needs for the week. Thank you for no TV lol. Soooo very quiet which is what we needed. We are familiar with the surrounding towns and mountains so navigating to our destinations and coming back for the night was the perfect distance. The fresh milk, eggs, bread and coffee was a wonderful surprise! Thank you!

Back in time

The cottage was nice and clean, my husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The view was amazing nothing but mountains and farmland. It was so peaceful and quiet and nice to just sit back on the porch and watch the animals and the horse and buggies and the armish kids ride their scooters .

WHAT AN AWESOMELY PLACE!!!!

Loved my stay, a true gem!!if i could give more then 5 stars i would. You looking for a getaway from the world and just relax this is the place. It was so cozy. The view, the animals on the farm, everything was perfect. Dont pass up on this beautiful location. Will for sure plan another trip to unwind!!!!

COZY AND COMFORTABLE STAY ON AMISH FARM

It was very clean and comfortable. Nice modular home. Only suggestion would be to fix screens in windows and door, would have loved to have the windows opened on the cool days. Nice to have laundry in unit. Live plants and games, were an added bonus.

Quiet Retreat

We really enjoyed our time at the lovely Oak Bend Cottage. Even though the weather was unseasonably warm, we still enjoyed having our meals on the deck where we set up the provided table and chairs. We appreciated the laundry facilities and especially the clothes line so we didn't have to add any heat from the dryer. We loved the quiet countryside and the company of the cows and horse close by. Cooking for three teens and two adults was a little tight, but we managed. Everything was very clean when we arrived, and we were greeted warmly by Katie and two of her sweet girls. May all who stay be filled with peace and joy at this quiet retreat.

Peaceful and Clean and 'unplugged'

This is a wonderful place if you love tranquility and animals and beautiful views. Kept very clean with lots of little surprises from the owners -- like fresh milk, eggs, and other helpful things. We would definitely come back!

Relaxing and has everything you need!

Everything you need is provided and then some! The house is cozy and wonderful. We loved the porch and being able to be so close to the animals on the adjacent farms. Would definitely go back

The Best Host

The host was incredible - they left us homemade bread, farm fresh eggs and milk. They greeted us upon arrival to make sure we were all set and were so so friendly. The property was perfect for my family of four. My children loved the farm animals (which were so friendly!). Lots of room for the kids to run around and play. Host left a box of toys for the baby and games for the oldest. We enjoyed the fire ring outside. The entire property is well kept and it was very clean! I appreciated that there wasn’t much of their stuff so that we could put our stuff and spread out. The washer and dryer on property was convenient for us. The view is gorgeous and it’s so peaceful. They were incredible hosts and the property was perfect - I’d definitely book here again!
