This cozy cabin is nestled in the pines & aspens of Higgins Gulch. It is less than 10 minutes from Downtown Spearfish and all the shops & restaurants. 15 minutes from Spearfish Canyon and 25 Minutes from Sturgis and Historic Deadwood. Enjoy nature with plenty of hiking, biking and ATV trails around you.
Whether it is a getaway for one to disconnect from the world, or a romantic weekend for two, you will find it here!

Updates: No more sofa sleeper...We now have a real bed! We also added a portable A/C unit to keep the temperature nice and cool in the summer, as well as window shades for extra privacy at night. You will also enjoy more seating on the expansive deck overlooking the Hilltop filled with Pine, Aspen and rock formations. Finally, we have wifi! So if you want to stay connected on social media, stream a show on our Roku TV, or just do some online shopping during your vacation, you can!

We also have a love seat glider on the deck to relax to the views, as well as a fire pit and BBQ to enjoy some out door cooking and gazing at the stars.

Perfect for pets!

Our cabin stay was perfect for both us and our pets! The property was private and peaceful, with plenty of wildlife for the dogs to watch from the porch. We loved how close we were to amenities, but the cabin still felt like a serene escape. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with pets!

Relaxing

Pictures online did not give it justice! Way nicer in person. We were looking for a nice Private get away and it was just that. Even with Sturgis starting up, this cabin is tucked away between the hills. Blocking the noise of the town and nearby road. Making it Peaceful & Relaxing. Just what we needed. Truely recommended for a couple looking to get away from their busy day to day lives.

Peaceful and private cabin

Great view and very private with wild deer -turkeys-chipmunks and even a coyote. Cabin was very clean and had most amenities needed. Ac worked very well as did all other utilities that were needed. Located only 10 minutes from town or 15 minutes from iron creek lake Host was very courteous and gave all information we needed before-during and after our visit. ( on our phone ) The deck and seating is a big plus with a fire pit Also a Nice place to get that perfect tan We will definitely be back again !! 👍

Peaceful Getaway

Loved this quaint cabin. Lots of privacy. Loved the visits from the deer and turkeys in the evenings. Would stay again !

Cozy relaxing stay in the hills

The cabin setting is beautiful and so peaceful. The little fire place heater kept the cabin cozy. We would love to come back and stay longer next time. Thank you for sharing your cabin

Cozy Cabin

We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the log cabin. We also enjoyed the trails that we could hike on. Roger was very nice and bent over backwards to answer our questions and respond to our requests.

It was peaceful and simple. Beautiful views. Had issues with cleanliness and it could use some simple additions to make it better. Like sugar and creamer for coffee, a fire extinguisher, towel rod holders to hang your towel while in shower, simple shelves to put dishes on.

Adorable Cabin For Two

It was adorable! It’s a genuine log cabin with trails to walk. No near neighbors so it’s very peaceful. The owner thought of everything that we might need, including keurig coffee k cups (of which I may have abused the privilege), shampoo/conditioner, cooking spray, and so much more! It’s a perfect retreat for two!

Wonderful, woodland escape!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin was well equipped and kept cool during the heat. Our cat was traveling with us, and he really enjoyed all the views the cabin had to offer, and we did too! It was truly peaceful. Faye was great with giving tips on how to find the cabin as well, we had no issues getting there. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling through the area, especially those who would like to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Wonderful natural setting

This is a beautiful cabin, and the view and the natural quiet were so inspirational. They had everything i needed for a peaceful, lovely stay. Recent rains had eroded the driveway, and that caused some problems for my sedan. But the host and owner were very helpful and we made it work. Thanks for the hospitality. I'd like to visit again:)

This cabin was outstanding! The property is extremely convenient to downtown Spearfish and surrounding Spearfish Canyon, it was extremely clean and had fantastic amenities. HIGHLY recommend for an escape from the traditional hotel setting. This property is a gem in the trees!!

Great place to stay!

Overall I had a great visit! Property was clean and worked well with my dogs. It was quiet and the property was beautiful. There was a little confusion on the key location upon arrival. One email I received referred to directions for a lockbox that I was not able to locate but after going through additional emails, I found another email with a second set of directions for locating the key. The only comment I would have is regarding the dead bolt lock on the door not working. As a single woman traveling, being able to use the dead bolt to secure the door would have provided another level of security. Overall, it was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it!

Wonderful Stay, but come prepared.

Owner was responsive. Property was clean and as advertised. Wonderful location with beautiful scenery. We appreciated the extra touches the owner added to make it an enjoyable stay. Come prepared: we came in spring and the snow melt made it a bit muddy getting to the cabin. Totally doable, but I wish we’d brought extra towels to clean our shoes. We didn’t want to destroy all the owners towels. The same note should be added for our dog; we wish we’d brought more cleaning supplies. The shower runs out of hot water quickly, so hurry about your business! That’s to be expected given it’s a cabin. The sliding barn door doesn’t completely close against the wall so be prepared to share some of your intimate moments. Not a problem, just be prepared! Overall, we had a wonderful stay at a beautiful location. The property is as advertised and the owner was responsive to questions. We wish we’d known about the mud to be better stewards of the property.

Quietly beautiful

Wonderful, small no frills cabin. The bathroom is small so a person of size may find it a little uncomfortable. But the cabin has rustic beauty and the property is very private. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay.
