Lovely apartment, appalling experience
Nice apartment, well-equipped and in a convenient location. Unfortunately a few days into our stay the kitchen drain got completely blocked and the sink and the dishwasher were filled with foul water. Not a pleasant experience in an open plan kitchen/living room. This seems to be an ongoing problem as there was plenty of drain cleaning liquid left in the flat. Kitchen was unusable. Contacted the property manager, which is where the frustrating part starts. Had no updates on any progress despite promises, so kept having to chase for information. We also kept suggesting that the building's maintenance people are contacted, as it was clear the issue is outside of the apartment, but unfortunately this was not done until the evening of the second day. Once the building maintenance is called they get the plumber out within an hour, and they proceed to try and diagnose/fix the problem. We are now unable to go to bed till nearly midnight as the guys and in and out of the flat trying to find the fix, but at least something was finally being done. The issue was finally fixed on day 3, and again no update or news from the property manager. Having spent nearly $500 on meals out for two days we were offered and received a 50%refund for one night's stay, which the manager thought was "perfectly reasonable". And we had to chase her for that as well. Very disruptive and unpleasant experience overall, nice property but the management lets it down.
