Needs some TLC; not as advertised
We travel to Aruba 1-2 times each year and often rent various houses to experience different parts of the island. We know the island well and have had some wonderful rentals. Unfortunately, this unit needs some TLC. The inside living area was fine with some exceptions. There was a visible leak in the ceiling above the dining table (below the master bathroom) and both upstairs bathrooms had a strong musty smell when we arrived. We turned the fans on and the smell got a bit better. There was also a faint sewer gas smell in the master bathroom and outside the unit. We've rented many places in Aruba and it seems the older units often have sewer gas issues. The biggest problem was the back patio sitting area. We like to "chill out" outside in the evenings but the furniture pictured in the VRBO listing was broken and stacked with other "junk". The hot tub cover was broken and stacked to the side with the furniture. The hot tub was running but was uncovered and quite dirty. We did not have any contact with the owners since the property is managed by Vacation Aruba. We contacted the property managers and sent photos of the issues. They offered us a different unit which we moved to. The staff at Vacation Aruba was very helpful in making sure our vacation was not ruined. I'm sorry to have to review the property negatively, but the owners should be truthfully represent their listing.
