Charming 2-bedroom cabin in rural Onoway
Welcome to Poplar Place, a tranquil escape in a one-of-a-kind cozy cabin on private acreage surrounded by farmland and nature.
The cabin has been custom-built with rest and relaxation in mind. Unique details like live edge beams and antique barnwood accent walls and other charming touches throughout.
This space has been meticulously designed to comfortably sleep four adults in the two separate open-air lofts, with 6ft ceilings in the center, each with a queen bed and luxury linens. For your comfort, the space is fully insulated and suitable for year-round use. Inside is a mix of rustic, country chic with modern comfort, and some antique décor and furnishings.
Light a cozy fire in the woodstove in the colder months and watch the snow fall. Appreciate a sunset on the deck with a nice glass of wine.
Enjoy a campfire and star gaze and listen to the coyotes sing in the distance on a beautiful summer night. There is firewood in the small shed beside the cabin. A handsaw is provided as you are welcome to collect dead fall from the forest as there is lots.
To provide ample privacy for guests, the back 6 acres are for guests only. The main house is a large meadow, two tree lines, and a seasonal creek away.
The full 12 acre property features mature poplar and spruce trees, walking trails, and during the spring season, a pond. Discover birds, watch the cows graze in the neighboring pastures. See the squirrels leap from tree to tree and occasionally see a fox, coyote, or deer.
Relax in the hammock with a cup of tea or waste away the afternoon on the swing with a good book.
Enjoy a slower morning with coffee from the French press and farm fresh eggs from the resident chickens, available in the on-site Snack Shack for purchase.
The outdoor shower is big enough for two with plenty of hot water. Towels are provided.
The outdoor kitchen is a very delightful way to cook your meals and enjoy nature at the same time. It's equipped with a large prep area, a propane powered oven with 2 burners, an electric frying pan, and fire pokers for campfire cooking.
The indoor kitchen area has everything you will need, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, serving dishes, a mini fridge, a hot and cold drinking water dispenser, a french press, a tea pot and a sink for washing dishes.
Coffee and tea are always complimentary.
The outhouse is only a short walk from the cabin. Flashlights are provided for an evening visit.
We are just a short drive to Chickacoo Lake, complete with endless walking trails. Nearby Stony Plain and Spruce Grove are just a 15-minute drive and have all conveniences and amenities of city life, including restaurants, fast food, shopping, leisure centers, ice rinks, and spas and much more.
The cabin is so cozy that you will feel like you are a million miles away. Yet, you’re close enough to Edmonton for excursions of everything you could wish for, yet far enough away to feel completely secluded and relaxed in the unplugged, off-grid experience.
