QUIET Lakefront renovated modern pet-friendly cabin for total relaxation! NOTE: We do not permit loud gatherings or loud music. This fully renovated 2-bedroom cabin is on Lac Lacroix which is a quiet lake in the hidden gem of a community of Messines. Many outdoor attractions nearby. No motorized boats allowed on the lake, so your stay is guaranteed to be zen! Relax and unwind on the fabulous deck overlooking the lake which has a canopy that can be used to cover the dining area. Excellent swimming off the dock in clear calm water with sandy bottom. Enjoy the lakeside fire pit or cozy up under the outdoor heat lamp near the sectional couch. Fish, sunbathe or kayak from the dock. Inside, the sectional overlooks the tranquil lake where the loons can be seen drifting by. Kayak and water toys are available for your use. Discover the attractions in the area! Cycling paths, hiking trails, local crafts, baked goods and more! Lots to keep the young ones entertained. Messines has invested heavily in its community centre which is a few km away. It has pickle ball, shuffle board, tennis and basketball courts available for all to use at no cost with plenty of free parking available. Parking is also free for anyone to bike along the paved bike trans Canada path. Many, many hiking trails, skidoo and cross country ski trauks are all nearby including Mont Morissette trails with a lookout tower which is a must see!

Très beau petit coin tranquille. Nous avons tous apprécié… le chalet, le lac, la tranquillité et le secteur. Un seul petit commentaire, il serait bien de vérifier la propreté des articles de cuisine et des napperons avant l’arrivée des vacanciers 😉 Merci aux hôtes 😃

Lovely Lakeside Stay

4 friends -2 from Ottawa and 2 from Virginia loved our stay here. Very relaxing with all the amenities of home with a spectacular view. one minor thing- small bedroom mattress too hard but we managed fine. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing stay. We even swam in the lake. Thank you!

Blown away

I was blown away when I arrived. The cottage is done to perfection, updated, very well decorated, homey and everything you could possibly need. The waterfront is beautiful and hanging out on the dock was fabulous. Hot tub was awesome as was the outside hang out area. Very pleased and impressed with this stay.

Cozy, comfy with everything you need

A gem of a place. Lovely, quiet location and cottage that had so many nice touches. It felt like being home. As a couple, it was perfect for us. No wear and tear that you see in other places...everything is very well-maintained. And the owners were very attentive and fast to respond. An excellent place to stay.

Le chalet est mignon et chaleureux et de plus il est bien équipé. Du quai, on peut se baigner et il n'est pas très profond. Il y a des kayacs,une planche à pagaie et des vestes de sauvetage. C'est un endroit calme. Il y avait certaines informations sur le chalet inscrites sur des feuilles mais à mon avis il en manquait au sujet de l'entretien du spa et des clés.

Perfect weekend getaway!

We could not have asked for a better experience at Nicole & Brian’s cabin! Everything was as described and pictured. We had absolutely everything we needed. The views are spectacular, the lake is peaceful and the cabin is cozy. Being the month of October, we particular enjoyed the outdoor heater on the deck, which allowed us to enjoy the cooler evenings outdoors. Communication with the owners was also quick and efficient. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay again!

Amazing Weekend at the Lake

My friends and I spent a 3 night stay at this terrific little cottage. We took full advantage of the beautiful lake with lots of swimming, kayaking, fishing, and just lounging on the dock. The fire pit overlooking the water, as well as the comfortable outdoor living area were perfect for relaxing after long days in the sun. The cabin itself is clean and welcoming, it has everything you'd need. The hosts were very easy to work with; the entire process was smooth and easy. Overall, we had an amazing long weekend at this cottage, would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful spot!

We were really pleased with our stay. Just as advertised- even better actually! Hosts were super responsive and friendly. Everything was clean, shower was great, it was so nice having a dishwasher! Kids loved being in the water and it was shallow enough to touch near the dock. Wifi, tv and board games helped with the rainy days. Adults loved our nightcap on the gorgeous private deck once the kids were in bed ;) a perfect spot that we hope to return to.

Lovely place to stay. Highly recommend.

Nicole and Brian were gracious and thoughtful hosts. The cottage was immaculate. It was also modern and cosy. The kayaks were well used. My 12 year daughter did not want to leave the water. The lake was quiet except for the jumping fish. Gorgeous trees and water. The experience was exceptional and we were sad to leave.

Our grown children live in the Ottawa area and visit this region often. . We fell in love with hosting many years ago and have refined our skills over time to ensure our guests have the best experience ever!
