Beautiful area with views, secluded, and a comfy place to sleep.

We requested this property at the last minute and the owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. The beds were very comfortable and the area was perfect for our family of 5. Will definitely stay again! Thanks Lisa!!

The home is wonderful! It's in an excellent, central location that is peaceful. The flat is lovely, clean, and with all necessary amenities. The owners are wonderfully responsive and helpful. We could not have stayed in a better place! We hope to return.

charming and private

We stayed here for a week while some work was being done on our house. This is the perfect rental from every aspect - spotlessly clean, great neighborhood, and centrally located on the island. The apartment was well equipped with quality cookware and comfortable beds. It was quiet and private, just what we needed. Lisa was a super host and very responsive. If I ever need a place to put friends and family when they visit, this is it!

We are happy to recommend this as a place to stay

My partner and I spent seven days at the apartment around Christmas time. We were totally satisfied with the host, very helpful and responsive. We had a really nice stay, our beds were super comfortable, the room was really beautiful, and the apartment is very nice. Our hosts were friendly, although we barely saw them while we were there since we were out wandering the town all day! The area is perfect, mid Island location, near shops, and restaurants. The neighborhood is beautiful! Pet friendly and great area to walk around. What a nice spot! I totally recommend staying here. :)

This mid-Island home was both pristine and inviting. The host family was gracious and helpful!

This home had been freshly decorated and was classy and contemporary. The private 1 bedroom unit was exactly what we needed. The center-Island loacation made the beach, Christiansted, and Fredricksted all accessible. I was raised in St. Croix but it was my families first trip. I am so glad we chose this home and this is now a part of their experience. The pool was private and beautifully kept. The yard and home were immaculate. Book this home today- you won’t be sorry!

A Perfect Place to End an Active Day on St. Croix

I spent 5 weeks in May/June 2016 working/vacationing from Lisa and Ian's private house apartment. The apartment and trip exceeded my expectations. The apartment is well situated on the property giving me plenty of privacy and beautiful views of the yard. Most everything I needed was already in the apartment and a couple minor requests were quickly taken care of by Lisa and Ian who were great hosts. I would often take 45 minute walks right in the charming Mary's Fancy community where the house is located. The apartment is located mid-Island 15 minutes to Christenstead and 5 minutes to the nearest shopping mall. It is centrally located from any location on the Island, From the rear of the apartment is access to a private yard and the salt water swimming pool. This was my first experience with a large salt water swimming pool which I was under the misconception that it was like swimming in the ocean. The water is actually a mild salt solution perfect for opening your eyes and mild on the skin. I hope to never be in a chlorine pool again. Half of my trip was telecommuting to my IT job in the US. I was very concerned if the internet connectivity would suffice. I made sure to have an AT&T mobile hot spot with me just in case. For my work I used IM, VOIP, Webex, and Remote Desktop and some Netflix. To my welcomed surprise the internet was flawless, I never needed the AT&T hotspot. When traveling around St. Croix AT&T worked well throughout except for some remote/sparsely populated areas. Ian and Lisa made themselves readily available to answer any question and often supplied great suggestions. Thank you Lisa and Ian for making your apartment available.

NOT Relaxing/poor management

Check-in: About 6 months out, I rented this property for a 40 day prime season stay. The evening before checked in I reconfirmed my arrival time/date with the property owner. I arrived to find a cleaning person, who could not check me in, and had been told the unit wasn’t rented for the next 2 days. After about 3 hours the check in was confirmed. In the meantime, I’m sitting there with my luggage and perishable foods. Once I had access, there was no one available to set up my safe, answer questions, etc.. Lisa, who previously managed the property, had just moved away, leaving her husband (Ian) to take over the management responsibilities. However he was also out of town. Facilities: I tried to take a shower but could get only tepid water. I also discovered that over half of the windows in the living area would not fully close and lock, while the rest would not open at all. I checked out the grill and it was totally filthy, there were no cleaning tools available and no gas in the tank. The toaster wouldn’t work. While the unit had a full kitchen, there was no oven cookware at all, nor most of the kitchen utensils (grill tools, colander, grater, wine opener!) that are normally provided in a long term rental with a full kitchen. Communication: I texted Lisa 2-3 messages as I discovered these problems. The response to my concerns was a phone call from Lisa, quickly taken over by Ian, in which he screamed and seemed totally out of control, Not allowing me to speak, threatening to evict me for reporting these problems, just crazy stuff. I learned later that he was also angry that I called on the number listed on the VRBO website??? What other number would I use? He ended our conversation by saying he would meet with me in the morning. Follow-up - It was 3 days before Ian showed up. By then I had been told that what what’s in the kitchen was all they would provide so I spent a day shopping for items needed to cook and grill, including gas. .On my 3rd night, Ian arrived and gave me a key to the safe and fixed the tv. A week or so later - Ian moves out and a family of 7 including 5 children 8 and under, moved in. These children were wild. Constant screaming, arguing, etc. One of the bedrooms is just above the unit’s bedroom and I was woken at 6 every morning. They were for there for the remainder of my 6 week stay. Not the relaxed stay I had expected.😔

Beautiful centrally located apartment

This property was absolutely perfect for our family. Centrally located just a short drive to anywhere you want to go. Very clean, comfortable and quite. When the owner saw we had two small children they even brought us a box of toys for us to play with. The pool is lovely, kept neat and clean just steps from the back door. I will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to St Croix!!!

Hidden Gem

We enjoyed our stay in St. Croix! The property was clean, quiet, and stocked with your basic necessities, including the fridge! The beds were comfortable. Decor was lovely. Our host really made us feel like we were at home. It’s tucked away in a nice, quiet neighborhood and grocery stores were a short drive away. There’s a private pool, grill, and washer/dryer available for use. I highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

Amazing!

We had a great time. The apartment was wonderful and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in St. Croix plus extras. Ian came and led us to their house when we got lost and Lisa answered every question we had. The location was perfect. It was a short drive to the beaches and to both ends of the island. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you should take it. You will be so happy!

Beautiful property. Pool was wonderful. Apt. Was outfitted comfortably.

Travelled to St Croix for family wedding and found this terrific property on vrbo.com. Lisa and her family were wonderful hosts, it was like staying with friends. My aunt and I truly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend this home share. It is right in the center of the island and a short drive to both the east and west ends, with shopping nearby. If I ever have the chance to visit St Croix again I would definitely make arrangements to stay here.

Quiet and safe retreat

Complementary bottle of rum when we checked in. Lisa is a wonderful host. We are very happy with our choice to book ruby 1 apartment. The pool was excellent to swim in. Great location to access the island. The neighborhood was very nice and good for walks. All the properties are well maintained, great landscaping. We would definitely recommend and book this property again. Thank you Lisa for your hospitality.

great stay on St. Croix

Nice apartment, location was mid-island. We rented a car and had a great time exploring in all directions. The apartment has lots of windows and we enjoyed the morning and evening breezes. Owners were great to deal with. Apartment was clean and appealing.

This was a great property!

My daughter & I recently spent Christmas & her birthday in St. Croix. Lisa & Ian were excellent! The apartment is equipped with everything needed for a fantastic vacation! I would highly recommend these accomodations, and the location was great, whether headed to Christiansted or Frederiksted!

Fantastic Location, Fantastic Hosts!

We had a great experience renting the Topical Hillside Oasis for three months! The owners were friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to help us out. They are located in a great neighborhood mid Island, making it a quick and easy commute to wherever we were headed. We walked around and explored the neighborhood many times, and met many of the neighbors during our time there. The apartment is cozy and fully equipped with everything you would need for either a short or long term stay.There is a fantastic saline pool with a diving board, which we took advantage of almost daily. There is even a lime tree out back so anytime we needed a fresh lime we could walk outside and pick one!
