Great cottage in a charming town.

Darrell is a wonderful host, and the cottage is a clean, comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend for visitors to Louisbourg.

Small but okay

The bedrooms were small and walls banged up and needed fill and paint. More importantly the beds were terrible. Not comfortable and very small for 2 people. Not sure that they were even actual doubles. There was still room for bigger and better beds and some small side tables for each side of the bed. Bedrooms were the biggest negative. Please do something about it! The on site manager Darrell was a great guy though!

Small Cottage, Convenient Location

This is one of a collection of cottages located along the main road through Louisbourg. It was adequate for our needs, but if you are looking for space to spread out (either inside or outside), this probably isn't the right property for you. When we arrived around 6pm, it was blazing hot, and the cleaning person had gotten sick as a result. Our cottage wasn't ready, and the property manager was very apologetic. He told us where we could see a nice view of the Fortress of Louisbourg and texted once the cleaning had been done. Later, we had an issue with the TV (our fault -- child pushing random buttons), and the property manager came over to fix it right away. He was very very kind every time we spoke with him, and I have nothing but good things to say about the management. The cottage itself was no-frills accommodations. There was water (a stream?) running through a culvert behind the cottage which was surprisingly loud. For me personally that wasn't an issue, but surrounding lights in the area did make the cottage feel rather bright even at night. If you are sensitive to light or noise, packing earplugs or an eye mask might be a good idea. Overall, I would recommend this as affordable accomodations near the Fortress of Louisbourg.

Good place to stay

We had a very nice stay. We were there for three nights. It was lacking toilet paper, dishes to cook with, garbage unclear what to do with it. There should be more garbage bags, tea towels and dishcloths if these items are going to be provided. Rooms were clean beds were okay comfort wise. The deck could use four chairs due to the fact it has the potential for four people. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and helpful. I would definitely revisit.

Our stay

Daryl at check in when efficient and helpful. Cottage was great and we enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. Would highly recommend this place.
