Stay at the cutest old school bach. A little beachside community in Central Hawkes Bay. Kairakau Beach, 40 minutes from Havelock North, thirty-five minutes to local shops and twenty minutes to the country pub. With no Wifi (yes cell reception) the kids will love getting into all the board games, listening to all the native birds in the trees around the bach, endless time at the beach (3 min walk through a private bushwalk) and a million swing rides. Guaranteed wholesome family time (and pet friendly). Boogy boards, surfboards and kayak also available (plus kids wetsuits).

3 bedrooms in the house (queen bed, double bed & single room with bunk beds and a pull-out trundler bed). There is also a bunk room (4 beds) off the garage with an extra toilet. Outside solar shower to enjoy after a cool dip, At low tide there is a walk to a waterfall and at high tide you can play in the nearby river. The community tennis court, estuary, and safe streets make it perfect for full family relaxation.

Relaxing place for a simple stay

Inlet and lots of beach walks with the kids. They had a lot of fun bike riding and out in the kayak.

Such a gem!

We loved our stay here over Christmas! A true bach but very well equipped. Very short walk to the beach. Clean & tidy which can be a challenge for an older bach, lovely quiet backyard and fantastic comms with the owner. Recommend!

Perfect weekend

We had a fantastic weekend. Communication beforehand was very good and everthing was as described. The kids loved the beach and the tennis courts. No Tv or internet required! Unfortunately, the sun disappears after the hill early afternoon at this time of the year, so we didn't sit outside a lot. Otherwise, we had a perfect stay.

Close to beach, traditional Bach. Nice community around

It is actually barely two minutes walk to the beach, with steps down onto sand at that point. Our 18 month old granddaughter was able to walk there unaided. Be aware that it IS as described, a rustic traditional Bach. Lovely sitting on deck and seeing and hearing Tui and a wood pigeon just around us in the trees at edge of yard. (And a friendly magpie)

Awsome family time

Amazing spot with great backyard for the kids . Very handy to the beach ( couple mins ) . House had everything you would ever need . Definitely will be booking again ! Wish we could of stayed longer .

Absolutely fantastic

We absolutely loved your stay here!! It was such a lovely cosy home and such a beautiful setting, was very clean n tidy and a real feel of being a home away from home for us all! Love love loved our stay, if we’re ever close to here again we’ll definitely be back :)

Fantastic family holiday spot

We stayed during the summer holidays with our three boys and dog - what a fantastic spot! The kids really loved hanging out in the garden and on the swing. Great proximity to the beach and a great space to relax and enjoy the sun. Definitely recommend to other families and pet owners.

A wonderful place to stay to totally unwind and relax. The kids were out fishing at any opportunity. The bach has everything you need with lots of space and really close to the beach. Thanks so much!!!

Tidy, well equipped bach only a short walk to the beach

Fantastic spot with a nice walk through the bush to the beach. Easily accommodated our family of 8. Lots of fridge and freezer space. Kids loved the outdoor shower. Kitchen is well equipped. Living area functions well with lots of games and books for the kids. Highly recommended.

Fab bach at the beach

Great location close to Kairakau Beach. Had all we needed in terms of amenities. Would recommend for a getaway at the beach!

Great location

Great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Lovely outdoor deck area and fire pit. Well appointed kitchen. Outdoor shower. Lots of extras in the garage available to use like boogie boards and wetsuits, tennis racquets. Only has a 45 litre hot water cylinder, which equates to less than 7 minutes of hot water before running out which didn’t work for a family of five, so not sure it would be suitable for large groups.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Its only 45 mins from Havelock and Hastings yet feels a world away. The hills behind us are beautiful and the white sandy beach is natures playground.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We love the immediate relaxation you feel as you arrive to our bach, its small and cozy yet our kids love being there. Our son loves catching crabs at low tide and fishing at high tide off the wee jetty over the river. Our daughters love the near by swings, beach walks with the dogs and swimming (nearly all year round).
