Disruptive or Unauthorised Events Policy
Summary
While we encourage guests to enjoy their stay, Vrbo does not allow disruptive or unauthorised events at homes listed on our platform. Read on for more detail for examples of what is not allowed — and the consequences for guests or hosts who violate this policy.
What's not allowed
Any event that we determine to be disruptive or is otherwise in violation of this policy is not allowed. Indications of an event that is in violation of this policy include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Any event that is in violation of the host’s house rules, as posted on the property description page during the guest’s booking experience
- Any event that causes excessively loud noise, an overcrowded street, or involves behaviour, such as vandalism, littering, parking nuisances, or trespassing
- Events are a frequent occurrence at a property, are disruptive to the area, and the host has not taken any action to mitigate
- Any event that violates local public health limits on safe gathering size, or exceeds the occupancy limit of the property
- The host did not know about the event in advance and did not give prior approval. Please note: Disruptive events with host approval are nevertheless in violation of this policy
- The guest intentionally disguised, lied, or falsified information provided to the host about their stay
- The guest posted open invitations to the event, e.g. on social media
- Hosts or guests did not take action to mitigate the disruption to the area
- Any event that is in any other way unauthorised or disruptive
Enforcement
Guests or hosts found in violation of this policy may have their Vrbo account and any/all listings terminated.
