  • Power outage only added to the experience!

"Due to an accident the entire mountain was with out power for 5+ hours. The hosts were very accommodating and brought us candles and flash lights. Having a wood burning fire place and some candles burning was very relaxing and peaceful. With no electricity it allowed us to un-plug and spend some quality time with our kids. We played cards in front of the fire with our kids and were actually somewhat disappointed when the power came back on! Great spot, very private. Owners are very accommodating and are very good people. Thanks"

  • Fantastic- well maintained property

"This suite is way better than staying at a hotel. Excellent choice for a family of 5 or 6. Very well maintained with everything you need to make your own meals. The wonderful owners are very knowledgeable of the area and provided us with some fantastic tourist destinations. I would rate the arrangement as 5/5."

  • Silver Star in Summer

"The house was beautiful and spacious inside. The property itself was overgrown; path from back of house to paved trail not useable. Short walk to S.S. Village. Nice hiking and biking on Silver Star. Too bad cafe at top is only open on weekends. Much cooler than in Vernon itself so need a light jacket. If going into Vernon, try the restaurants Intermezzo and Bamboo Beach. Both give fabulous food and service. Go to tourist info and get the self guided walking tour sheets for the murals. If there the right week, go on the night time Ghost Tour. Worth going to Kalamalka Lake and spending the day at Kal Beach swimming and/or renting Kayaks. Also had a nice trip to Historic O'Keefe Ranch. Another nice place on Okanagan Lake is Kin Beach/Park. Great park, especially for young children. Shallow water; excellent playground. If you want fresh fruit, vegetables pies etc stop off at Davison Orchards on Davison at Bella Vista Road. Had a wonderful week in this home and recommend you give it a try."
