  • There's a reason to live: Find out why at Bee's Knees BnB and Art Studio in Picton, Ontario

"We’ve all seen the show: “Say Yes to the dress”. And who hasn’t picked their horse at the local race based on the jockey’s name or the equine’s silks? And so it was with anticipation that the newest BnB attracted my attention, “Bee’s Knees BnB & Art Studio” located in Picton, Prince Edward County, Ontario is bold, bright and YELLOW! With a crisp blue sky as a backdrop, 15 Cumberland Street is a tiny touch of “home away from home”. Proprietor Treese is as sunny as the yellow home is inviting. Smoke-free and pet-free, Treese has opened up her two large, upstairs rooms for guests who want to explore the myriad of options available to the visitors to the grape growing county. Taking a page from “Eat, Pray, Love”, Treese has transformed the yellow home into an idyllic bower of comfort. Guests are ushered in and shoes are shed for an unencumbered stay. Communication begins conversation and with a hostess like Treese those discussions can go far and wide, or light, or deep. With a Swiss background and a family scattered across Canada and around the globe, Treese brings a wealth of knowledge and common sense to any conversation. Rooms are offered at reasonable prices; her list of do’s and don’ts is small; and her breakfasts are healthy, nutritious and varied. She has an infectious laugh that resonates and she assails her guest with genuine smiles. She is passionate about the island she calls home. Treese wants her guests to “have fun!” She encourages them to explore what the surrounding villages have to offer, and to return for a comfortable evening. She is not afraid to deal some cards or break out the occasional board game to help in the decompression and sharing of the days activities. The covered patio in the backyard affords a quiet, reflective space to chat, read, write or enjoy a glass or two of your own bottled vintage. And before you know it, you’ve made another friend who you will want to come back and visit, because that’s what happens at the yellow home known as Bee’s Knees BnB & Art Studio, in Picton, Ontario."

  • spacious and comfortable

"The property is accurate as described and the location is ideal; an easy drive to wineries and beaches. There is also the advantage of having restaurants within walking distance; Portobellos is especially close and quite good though I would recommend making a reservation. The provided park pass is a lovely added touch. The property is very clean and well maintained and we would not hesitate to recommend Owen House to friends and family. I would suggest providing sheets (we only used the Master bedroom) of a little higher quality. Also, the Picton area can get quite hot and the master bedroom does not seem to be vented to the house's air conditioning and there was no fan provided; so that room became quite uncomfortable at night. I would suggest providing a fan. Overall, it's a lovely house."

  • A perfect place to relax and go wine-tasting

"Our group of six had a wonderful time at the Little House on the Mountain. The check-in and checkout process was seamless. The house itself was spotless and extremely comfortable. Our group loved the VHS and Super Nintendo selection! Not only is there a gorgeous view from the house, it's also a great place to start any adventures of the County - with Lake on the Mountain and Waupoos Cidery nearby, you don't even have to go too far. For anything further, the hosts put together a lovely basket with all the maps and guides you could need (they even include a pass to Sandbanks!). They also left a bottle of local wine in the fridge for us which was perfect for our next day of wine-tasting. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and it exceeded our expectations. We'd love to come back in the summer to try out the backyard."
