  • Comfortable, quiet, convenient and well equipped. Highly recommended.

"San Francisco is quite expensive for any type of accommodation. Vivian's studio is modestly priced and it's 30-40 minutes by bus into the city. It's very conveniently located with multiple bus lines within a few minutes walk going to the city, the beach, south or north. Unless you have mobility issues, you won't need a car and you're probably better off without one. The neighborhood is great. It has a nice suburban feel without having to walk far for anything . There's a medium sized supermarket within 5 minutes walk plus plenty of smaller stores, cafes, restaurants, etc nearby. The wonderful Golden Gate park is only 10 minutes walk away. Vivian is a great host; she walked us through the studio showing us where everything was, talked us through her rules (which are very reasonable) and gave us good tips on public transport, cafes, etc. The studio was very clean and looks even nicer than the photos. The kitchen doesn't have an oven or stove. However, with the addition of some microwave safe cooking containers (I left one behind) I was able to cook pasta bolognese for dinner one night and beef tacos another. There is a small toaster oven, a toaster, coffee maker and a kettle (a necessity for making tea!). The fridge is a good size and there is a large water filtering jug which makes the water much nicer for drinking). The bathroom is clean and well appointed with various shampoos, lotions, medicines, etc available that you might need but may not be likely to carry on holidays. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast - we had 3 phones and 2 tablets, sometimes all running at once and there were no problems. Vivian was happy to print some Alcatraz tour tickets for us that we'd bought online. The double bed is very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows, blankets, etc. We required 3 beds so Vivian provided a double air bed which I found surprisingly comfortable. The lounge folds out into a single bed however the hinge doesn't flatten out completely so there's a bit of a ridge in the middle - some may find this uncomfortable - if I had a choice, I'd use the airbed and leave the lounge upright. The neighborhood and the studio were very peaceful and quiet. There was a bit of noise from upstairs when Vivian's family were getting ready for the day or coming home but it was not intrusive in any way. The outside deck was being re-built while we were there - there was a little bit of noise at times from this but no inconvenience."

  • Great location, very responsible owner, well-equipped

"We travelled with our two young kids, without car rental. This place is beyond our expection and definitely we want to stay there again. The apartment at Lake street has great location, which is quiet and safe, close to a variety of grocery stores and restaurants, and easy access to public transportation, MUNI. Traffic on Lake street is not much, make it easy to walk around, even with stroller. At night, it is quiet and safe that I am not worried even when sometimes we got back quite late. Lake street is only one street north of the California street, on which California # 1 bus runs all the way east to downtown, and two streets north of Clement street, on which many grocery stores, either Chinese-style (New May Wah is the most popular one) or American style (Smart & Final), located. We even frequently went to nearby Trader joe's and Target, by taking MUNI. The owners, Matt and Linda are so kind and responsible. Whenever I had any question or ran into any trouble with TV-Cable, internet, or heater, they always helped us quickly. The apartment itself is well-equipped, making it easy for a family of four to stay there for an extended period of time. Overall we are very satisfied and surely would like to stay there again next time when we are in San Francisco."

  • Convenient and Affordable

"Enjoyed the stay here overall. This place is situated in a great location to visit just about any main attraction in San Francisco either by the Muni bus or on foot. Check -in/-out was easy and the apartment was nice. The place was tidy but found the toilet seat dirty so I had to clean it. The information packet was extremely helpful and was much appreciated. In all, I would stay here again if I found myself visiting SF again."

  • The perfect VRBO apartment in San Francisco

"We fell in love with the apartment during our two-week stay. It is within easy walking distance of many shops, restaurants, cafés, and markets, especially Asian, Russian, and Polish ones. Several bus routes have stops close by, and the Muni 38 series traverse the entire city via Geary Boulevard, from Market & Beale downtown all the way to Land’s End. In the interest of economy, we ate most breakfasts and simple dinners at the apartment, since it has a complete and modern kitchen. Two separate bedrooms—one soft bed and one firm—make for easy sleeping. The living room has a wide-screen TV, and the bathroom has a glass stand-alone shower. The entire apartment has been completely redecorated and modernized, but retains its beautiful, original hardwood floors. Surrounded as it is by traffic, the apartment is very quiet, perhaps because of its location in mid-block. In addition, the neighborhood feels safe. The owner is accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We are grateful to her for making our dream San Francisco vacation a reality."
