Well maintained cabin with great views

              4 of 5
We had a great time at this Snowmass cabin, it was very well stocked, we didn't have to get anything like shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, soap etc, it was all right there! The hot tub was delightful, we all enjoyed sitting in it after a long day of exploring. There are bugs that bite so be warned, I would bring something to keep them off if you are prone to being bitten. Only one thing stood out as a negative and that was trying to explain to my 8 year old daughter why there was a mirror on the ceiling above our bed (it is covered by a drapey sheet). Just a heads up if you have children who are curious, I changed the conversation and moved on. Also, some of the sliding screen doors have slight rips at the bottom where they meet the floor, they probably need to be fixed at some point. Washer and dryer was perfect and detergent was supplied! The upstairs is great but it was SO hot when we were there in July that we couldn't use that bedroom with two beds so my girls had to share the downstairs queen bed which was not ideal. There is no air conditioning in the house which is normal for Colorado as it does get cold at night but I think supplying a few fans for the bedrooms would be very helpful. As far as things to do, you must go to the rodeo in Snowmass on Wednesday night, it is a treat, we went horse riding using Snowmass Creek Outfitters and did the "rodeo ride" and it was unbearably dusty, the have other rides which would be better in my opinion. We rented bikes and went down the Rio Grande trail and then rented a taxi to bring us all back to the top! Maroon Bells is a great, you can drive your car there after 5pm. Aspen is well, its Aspen! great people watching but super expensive, Kemo Sabe is a great shop if you want to get cowboy boots and/or hat. There is a Whole Foods in Basalt and the actual town of Basalt is adorable. I preferred it to Aspen. That is my overview of our trip to this cabin!

              Great place for large group

              5 of 5
Fred's place was perfect for what we needed! We had 8 adults and 2 small dogs. Plenty of space for a nice vacation. The house was clean, decorated very cool, and had pretty much everything available to us to cook a big Christmas meal! There was also a little fenced in area to take my dogs out in! We used the hot tub once but the water didn't seem to get that warm. It's about 25 minutes away from Aspen and Snowmass, 15 to Basalt. We frequented all 3 with a rental car and a loyal Uber driver. Thanks Fred!
