  • Wonderful stay over Labor Day weekend!

"The only bad part about this stay was that it wasn't long enough! It was peaceful, restful, beautiful and just what we needed. Howard has built a wonderful little retreat with many thoughtful touches in the decor and craftsmanship. I would highly recommend this place to someone looking for a getaway to simply recharge and do nothing, as well as to those looking for adventure. My husband and I like to fish and caught a total of 26 trout between the two of us at Turquoise Lake! We're beginners when it comes to river fishing but apparently there are big ones to be caught in the rivers that run through the property as well. We would love to stay again!"

  • Cute, Cozy Cabin perfect for a Colorado Getaway!

"This Cabin was a great home base for a Mt. Elbert climb and some white water rafting, and minutes away from Leadville. A nice front porch or back deck were perfect choices for that morning coffee. The cabin came nicely equipped with linens and cleaning supplies. The washer and dryer worked perfectly, and the kitchen had all the necessary items to help you make your own home cooked meals. There was a huge refrigerator, and the hanging television by the wood burning stove was perfect to watch the Olympics after the day's activities. Wireless internet and Dish Network were included and appreciated by our party of 4, 2 fathers and 2 sons enjoying a Colorado adventure. The cabin utilized it's square footage nicely, and the loft was a fun hideaway to sleep 2 comfortably. There were even 2 axes to split wood for fire in the stove, or in the ring outside. There was plenty of great firewood covered up from the elements to make this possible. We could tell the owner cared about the furnishings and amenities for her guests. The owner was fantastic at responding to our questions and returned emails promptly and also supplied her cell number should we have needed to talk to her directly. We had an awesome time and would definitely come back. Perhaps a winter trip to enjoy the coziness around the wood burning stove or some snow shoeing on nearby trails. That should be easier than our trip to the summit, 7 minutes of pictures, and our race down to beat the oncoming thunderstorm... Thanks for helping us make some good memories!"

  • Superb Location and Facility

"Our "Mountain Gang" from Missouri greatly enjoyed staying in the Lone Pine Lodge. The well furnished chalet was very comfortable and served as our base camp as we experienced many Colorado activities in the area. IE: Fishing, Rafting the Arkansas, Princeton Hot Springs, the train ride to the Climax mine from Leadville, climbing Mount Huron, more fishing, visiting the Leadville mining museum, shopping and enjoying main street of Leadville. In addition to enjoying eating at various restaurants in both Leadville and Buena Vista, the Lone Pine Lodge kitchen and dining room provided everything we needed to enjoy eating and fellowshipping together. Everyone had a great experience and enjoyed the opportunity to stay in the wonderful and beautiful cabin/chalet of the Lone Pine Lodge. Thank you. Dana Reynard, Mexico, MO."
