  • Two thumbs up

"The property is a GREAT location...everything is within walking distance, but it is also tucked away enough to not be on a loud street. The pictures don't do it justice...it's much roomier than I expected. There were 3 of us on the trip...2 in the queen bed and 1 slept on the pull-out couch. It was a nice touch to have the coolers in the closet that we could borrow. It was nice that the living room and dining room were one big open room. The bedroom had lots of space as well as the bathroom (equipped with a hair dryer and curling iron) and a HUGE bath/shower. The kitchen is fully equipment with pans, utensils, coffee maker, wine glasses, the list goes on). Plus the fridge had plenty of space. There is also a balcony through the entry that seats 2. Plus I liked there is no check-in process (it's a code to the keypad) so we could get straight to the fun. If I come back to Key West (hopefully) I'll be staying here again!"

  • Little piece of Heaven on Southard Street!

"First time to Key West...won't be the last! The house was immaculate and decorated beautifully. Location was very central to everything. Several good restaurants are within a few blocks of the house. Loved being in a neighborhood where you really get the sense of what it would be like to live in Key West. The outdoor space was a real plus. Found ourselves out on the deck, morning, noon and evenings. Heated pool was a place to relax after a day at the beach, walking or sightseeing. Fun to stay in a house that has 120 years of history and imagine life back in the day!!! Owner was very pleasant to work with and was so helpful in answering questions and sharing recommendations. We had a great time!"

  • Secluded and Private - Even though you are a block off Duval

"Just got back from a week staying at the Old Town Bali Hideaway. This place is georgous!!! The owners were marvelous to work with and their staff was very helpful when we had a couple of questions. The private compound is landscaped to perfection and the pool was really nice to have when you just wanted to chill out. I recommend this property to any couple who likes privacy. We will go back!!!"

  • Very nice time

"Check in was in another building in the neighborhood, but easy. When we arrived we checked the bed linens and found some dark spots on the bedspreads that were distasteful. The sheets also had some long hairs in them, and the white towels had some stains on them. We called the management office right away and they were incredibly swift in rectifying the situation, so we were happy about that. They even gave us two bikes for free to use during our stay because of it and we appreciated that immensely. The kitchen had a lot of little ants everywhere, so don't leave anything out on the counters. It's a Key West thing to be aware of. A top shelf in the bathroom was swarming with ants and it was pretty alarming. Apparently there was some ant bait placed up there and boy were they baited. It freaked me out. The grounds are gated which made me feel very safe and they had a lovely pool you could dip in which was lovely. This particular unit faces the street and the entrance to the courtyard so you don't have any privacy unless you pull the blinds closed, which darkens the whole apartment. It wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to have some sunlight coming in. The people who take care of the complex live next door and are very nice. However, one of the rules of the complex is that you're not allowed to dry anything out on your porch area on the wicker chairs. They tell you to dry everything in your bathroom or use the dryer (which is on site, coin operated.) We thought this was silly and couldn't see that seriously being enforced because it's a beach location and people are going to have towels, suits, etc.. It was. That struck me as a little uptight. The location is perfectly suited to all the attractions in Old Town and ultimately I would stay here again. The management team told us that there were going to be some upgrades to the unit coming soon, which is exciting. The pros outweighed the negatives."
