  • Awesome location near everything in Key West!

"We stayed here for the first week in April in 2017. We are a family of four. You can bike or walk to everything from here. The location couldn't be better. Mallory Square is minutes away and Zachary Taylor Park (nice beach for swimming and sunsets) is even closer! The condo is lovely. We were traveling with our children so we only used the two bedrooms but there is also a fold out couch in the living room. Everything you could possibly need is there and ready. We were very comfortable during our stay. We really enjoyed grilling on the back porch. There is a lovely little fenced in courtyard behind the condo that is very private. It was the perfect spot to chill after a day at the beach or biking around town. It is also a nice place to store the bikes at night. Condo can beached by the front or back door and we found that we seldom used the front one. It was really nice to be able to leave the sandy beach stuff to dry on the porch and not have to take it through the house. The AC is new and runs wonderfully. All appliances are in the kitchen should you need them. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this condo. Craig is available if there are any issues and responds promptly which is great."

  • Great place in perfect location

"David's place in a quiet area in the heart of old town was a great find. We spent the month of february and loved the access to the best of key west. We were 4 blocks from the marina bars and restaurants, and about 4 blocks from Duvall(even though we avoid the crawl) Easy walk to anywhere. I spent countless hours on the big front porch watching key weird go by... David's place is cozy but makes incredible use of the space. My wife and I were very comfortable in this homey space. The place is decorated very tastefully and has an artists touch. David was always very responsive and helpful, and a great landlord... We miss it already... highly recommended"

  • Family Fun in Key West

"I am writing this review from the point of view of a family of 6 with kids ages 18, 16, 14 & 12. Timing: April 2017 Golden Heron was the perfect house for our family of 6 and in a great location to easily get around Key West without some of the craziness of Duval street after dark. The House + Very big with enough bedrooms, beds and space for our family to spread out. + Beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets + Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook + Nice small pool that the kids really loved after some 80+ degree days exploring + Nice private backyard to enjoy the weather and sitting outside for meals + Key West charm and history + Plenty of TVs in almost all rooms + Internet was fast and reliable + Good air conditioning and plenty of ceiling fans for those extra hot days Location + The location is perfect. + Easy bike ride to everywhere you want to go on the key + Right next to park with tennis courts, baseball field and basketball field. We played tennis several nights at the lighted courts + One block from local grocery store and several good restaurants + Far enough away from Duval street that you don't get the rowdy crowd but easy bike ride or taxi ride if you like the party scene + 5 minute bike ride from Higgs beach & 10 minute bike ride to Smather's beach Owner & Property Manager + Scott (the owner) and Clyde (the Property Manager) were both excellent to work with. + Clyde (the property manager) was very fast to respond to questions or needs and was able to stop over within 5 minutes if we needed anything. Recommendations + The best thing we did was rent bikes for the entire week from "the Bike Shop" on Truman, which is 2 blocks away from the house. They were super nice and gave us a discount because we rented six bikes. 95% of our travel was via bicycle. We only needed a car to go to Publix to get groceries. Next time we come to Key West we will not get a rental car but just rent bikes and use taxis for the rare occasion we needed a car. + Sunset at Mallory Square was great. We enjoyed the street shows and watching the sunset. + Duval street gets pretty crazy after dark, but during the day it is nice to walk the entire length for the unique shops and people watching. Possible issues + There are quite a few homeless people. They did not bother us but they were around the park. + A lot of wild roosters who will get very loud in the morning, which is their job. Overall, excellent trip."
