  • Historic Hilo Home - beautiful setting

"We enjoyed our stay in Hilo and loved the house and the history Owner is lovely and very responsive and we had everything we needed. Because this is an historic house, do not expect all the modern conveniences such as a dishwasher. Who cares when the view and porch and paintings and sizes of the rooms are extraordinary. And yes walk to town and not on the highway but access at crosswalk and then up a little street to the street to town. About a 15 minute walk I highly recommend this house and seeing the water from every room and the porch was wonderful. Mahalo Keala"

  • Great house, beautiful location, we loved our stay!

"We loved staying at this house that is tucked in the rainforest but still a few minutes away from town. The house is spacious, plenty of room for us two couples. All of the furniture was comfortable, the house was clean and the kitchen stocked nicely. The lot is large and filled with tropical plants with a waterfall at the back. We like to cook and found the kitchen easy to use and the outdoor grill worked. We appreciated the filtered water. The laundry machines are outside the unit but not a problem to walk a few feet. The house has many windows and sliding doors and they all have screens. We had a lovely breeze in the afternoon. And there is a deck that wraps around two sides of the house. We liked the frogs. The street is quiet otherwise and in a nice residential neighborhood. Boiling Pots Park is just a short walk up the street. We have been to Hilo many times and there is lots to do rain or shine. We were there for two weeks this visit so we had a chance to do many things. We did the hike to see the lava hose and it was amazing. Jackie Reyes has a new restaurant and the food was fabulous. The Liliokulani Japanese Garden is wonderful and we like to have a picnic on Coconut Island. Noemi answered questions promptly. The coffee maker didn’t work one morning. I sent a text and we had a replacement very quickly."

  • the perfect Big Island getaway house

"My husband and I spent two weeks in February 2017 in Maria's lovely back house. It was comfortable, spacious, and very well stocked, a great retreat after our days of exploring the Big Island. Two inviting porches for coffee or breakfast - from one of them we could even see Mauna Kea on a clear day. and the bonus was Maria's responsiveness to our requests or questions - we had some lovely conversations and she was very helpful in connecting us with local events in which we were interested. we strongly recommend - and we will return!"
