  • A Friendly Home

"I spent one full month in Halekepani House and I enjoyed it immensely. It is vast and comfortable, designed by people who wanted to live in it. You can tell from many details. Bedrooms have their own patio, with the biggest one suitable for outdoor dining and accessible also from the kitchen. The garden goes all around the property. The furniture meets so well with the spirit of the house, which then hosts all the tools, books, ornaments as collected in a lifetime, so you feel you are living in some close friend's house who is temporarily abroad. And very friendly are indeed the owners, Julie and Samuel, who live in another house just across the street. The street and the whole area is very peaceful, no through traffic, no disturbing noise, just bird calls … I wish I could return anytime soon in Halekepani."

  • Amazing house! Amazing view!

"Being the skeptic that I can be at times, before we left for the Big Island, I said "if this house is half as nice as the photos, I will be happy." Happily, my skepticism was not needed because the house is fantastic! The house was clean, comfortable, and fresh. The kitchen is stocked for real cooks, it had everything I needed to prepare meals for a crowd, which we did many times during our week stay. Coffee on the lanai, breakfast on the lanai, dinner on the lanai! (You get the picture!). This is a lovely, charming house, thank you, Sterling and Trish! When Hurricane Madeline threatened (but eventually became a typical storm), we learned the house had flashlights, candles, matches and lanterns. The ocean view, lanai, hot tub, and pool were enjoyed continually and just perfect. We spotted green sea turtles in the waves and swam in the pool under the stars. The Ohana Suite provided the extra space we needed for the group. While a bit of a drive from Hilo, with some grocery planning in advance, we didn't mind and loved the peace and quiet. We took morning neighborhood walks with an ocean view and met warm and friendly locals. Our other outings included Blue Hawaiian Helicopter ride, hikes in the Park, visit to black sands beaches in the south, and Akaka/Rainbow Falls, and more. When it was time to leave, we all agreed we wished we had booked more days. Great Big Island vacation in a very special house! Grace, Dave, and group"

  • Accurate property description and great customer service.

"We enjoyed our stay at the Pepeekeo house this past week. Randall is very prompt with messages and information. We are definitely happy to have stayed in this location with plenty of living space and private pool. The avocado tree was definitely a perk! Thank you! -Tracie"

  • Awesome!

"My two friends and I highly recommend this property for your stay in the Hilo area. The condo is superbly furnished, very comfortable, and well stocked with a stunning view of the beach, which is only a few steps from the complex. We checked out several beaches in the area and this was by far the best one. We swam with turtles nearly every day. There are beach toys, umbrellas, extra chairs and bedding, lots of kitchen supplies, extras in the bathroom, and much more. Each room has a fan and there are lots of windows with screens for letting in a breeze. The balcony is large enough to sleep on (after being in places with tiny balconies). One of the most interesting features is the use of mirrors to maximize the view! This place is really special. We would come back here in a heart beat. There is a pay washer and dryer on each floor, and they recycle, which we were happy about. We loved the way the place is decorated. It is clean, well arranged and the beds are very comfortable. The owners ask that you not use the loft, so don't plan on that space being available. The kitchen is really small, but as long as only one person at a time is using it, it works just fine. The refrigerator, dishwasher and stove all appear to be new. The frig even has an icemaker. They furnish laundry baskets, plenty of beach towels and bedding. Wonderful place!"
