  • Super clean and super friendly!

"Diana and Juan were very friendly and welcoming. We were in town for a family reunion, and visited many of the homes of my family. The White Ginger Cottage, was a refreshingly clean and updated home, which made it very nice to come "home" to, in the evenings. The king size bed was super comfortable. I also loved that they had many of the things you have and use at your own house like:dirty clothes hamper, beach towels, bug spray, hair dryer, extra toothpaste and ziploc baggies. My sister lives just on the other side of the walking park near this home, so I definitely plan on using this home again when I am in town!"

  • Turtles for neighbors

"We're back in cold New Hampshire now. My adult family of six had a great time here. The weather was beautiful and swimming over at Richardson's in the tide pool was a lot of fun. I wish that we could have stayed a few more days. The Botanical gardens in Hilo is truly awesome. Thanks Again"

  • Spectacular!

"When my husband and I got our first look at the river running through the yard that gives River House Hideaway it's name, we knew we'd found something special. And when we walked through the front door, we wondered how we were ever going to pry ourselves away! The River House made the perfect base for our Hilo area stay. Spotlessly clean, it had all the amenities we needed, including plenty of towels and a well-equipped kitchen, though to be honest, we didn't do much real cooking. Location-wise, it's very convenient to downtown Hilo and the waterfront, several big supermarkets, Target, and a multiplex cinema. Nighttime sounds included the music of the Coqui frogs and the murmur of rain and river. It made for wonderful, restorative sleep. My only caveat is to be mindful of the mosquitoes. I made the mistake of going outside to the riverbank in the early morning to snap some pictures. I got eaten alive!!! Lesson learned! We have family in Hilo, and so most times we stay with them, but when that's not possible, like our most recent visit, we will definitely consider returning to The River House Hideaway. Thank you Mozella and Glenn."

  • Lovely Cottage

"We found this vacation rental lovely, clean and very spacious. Location was good. The only negative was the kitchenette. I have many food allergies and therefore, we planned to cook most of our meals. I do not feel the owner misrepresented the rental in any way, however, the kitchenette area was so small it made cooking and cleaning difficult."
