  • The home was very well equipped and very comfortable for our group of 5 adults and one baby

"We really appreciated that the kitchen was very organized and equipped plus the whole home was very clean. The baby seat and Pack and Play was so convenient for us and we did not have to bring anything like that for our little granddaughter. The little teddy bear on the bed was a nice touch for her too. We really enjoyed our stay and were lucky to have no rain while we were there, unusual for Hilo. Just a few comments. There were only 4 chairs for our group of 6 but we did find some folding chairs in the basement. The basement is promoted as an additional space but smelled very musty. I don't think it would be very comfortable for sleeping or hanging out in. My last comment and I don't want to appear to harsh, I think the towels could be in a bit better shape (they were quite tattered) and we never did find the 2 beach towels. Just as a comparison, the home we stayed at it Kona, had many towels both for the home and the beach, which accommodated all of us. And the Hilo home was slightly more expensive to rent than the other home."

  • We could not imagine a nicer place to stay

"We had a wonderful month in this bright, well-equipped and very comfortable condo. It was so relaxing, looking out over the bay with blue sea and palm trees, just as in the photo. Only the sound of gentle waves breaking and coqui frogs in the evening. The owners, Annelise and Audrey were very helpful. The location is great, being close to Hilo and only a 3 minute drive for good snorkelling at Richardson's Beach. Carlsmith Park is even closer, with safe swimming and turtles. We became members at the Hawaii Botanical gardens, just N of Hilo, since we so enjoyed their lush rainforest and exotic flowers on multiple visits. Of course, visits to the Volcanos National Park were a highlight; we were fortunate to see active red-hot lava there. It was such a wonderful holiday and we hope to return soon. • Best Value in Hilo

"Relocated to Hilo for work and stayed 7 weeks. Old hotel room renovated to studio. Nothing fancy but is furnished and comfortable. A/C, ceiling fan and tv all work. Parts of Waiakea Villas have bad reputation but the building and area of this room was quiet and safe. I never saw police or fire dept make a call to the property in 7 weeks. Nearby units occupied by good residents and commercial businesses, including site security office. Appointed with cooking accessories and spices; toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Parking is easy and available. Location is convenient to downtown, mall and restaurants. Not your romantic getaway room. But it is a safe, quiet and comfortable. Recommend this place to budget travelers and to people looking for longer stays."

  • Home Away From Home

"This place was perfect! It was really like a home away from home! The check-in was simple and easy. The Check-out was easy and simple. The kitchen was spacious and equipped with more than I could have asked for! There was a working oven, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and rice cooker. There was eating utensils, cooking utensils, pots and pans, paper towels, dish washing soap and sponges. There was also trash bags. There was also a few cooking supplies (pepper, salt, cooking oil). The living room was spacious and comfy and I did enjoy the breeze that came through the house with the windows and blinds open. The smell is also refreshing and the idea of placing febreeze on the fans was brillant! I will definitely use this idea in my home as well! The bathroom was nice and clean with lots of towels and hot water that lasts! The bedrooms was both the same size, nice and cool. I loved that there were hangers in the closet and there was a t.v in all the rooms as well as wifi! Loved the garage and yard, perfect for bbq or kids playing in the back and parking was great! No one really bothered us and the neighborhood was quiet (except the koki frogs). Close to everything, the mall, Walmart, supermarket and freeways/highways. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends as this place is definitely better than saying at a hotel/inn/motel in Big Island. Thank you for the stay and for making us fell at home!"
