  • Nice house

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is very well appointed with a couple of exceptions. The living and sleeping spaces are very comfortable, everything is very clean and attractive, the view of the ocean four miles away and the sunset is stunning. The kitchen is very useful for the casual cook. Serious epicures will want to bring their own knives, graters, and aprons (a favorite shirt is now ruined). The location is good if you don't mind driving every day and a bit of traffic noise."

  • Secluded and wonderful

"Quiet, private, welcoming, COMFORTABLE, with a wonderful view, the house felt like home the minute we walked through the door. The house is located in a relatively dense residential neighborhood, but is so cleverly sited and landscaped that no other home is visible (or audible) from inside the house or from the many fabulous outside spaces. The owner is extremely responsive and thoughtful. I can't say enough good things. Our visit to the Big Island was twice as delightful because we stayed in Cole's lovely home."

  • Awesome view Great stay

"The owners are absolutely awesome and very family oriented. I am rating my stay a 4 star because there were a few things that are not necessarily the property owners fault but un acceptable in my book. We arrived and the house was supposed to be open but it was not. We waited on the lanai for about an hour after arrival to get in but once inside we were very happy with the spaciousness of the property. The next day we left and when we returned we found that the key did not work!!!!! I ended up finding a way in through a unsecured screen window. There were many fruit tree that had fruit and Charles allowed us to pick and eat the papayas, bananas, avocados and macadamias. The kids had a blast searching the property for food. On the down side there were very many geckos in the house, they don’t bother me but my mom was terrified and did not sleep the whole vacation. The floors were extremely creaky especially in the hall to the master bedroom which also has the main bathroom so we were constantly waking up to kids using the facilities. Cockroaches and ants are a problem here as well. I was told in the beginning to keep it clean to avoid ants so we did, but I did not expect to wake up and realize my toothbrush would be swarming with ants (there was a colony on there no joke, I washed about 200 or more off before I could use it). I wish I had taken a picture…. The beach items were awesome but I would not use the snorkels and mask because they may not have been cleaned, so I brought my own, if there were cleaning supplies in the house and Clorox wipes I would have been happier. over all I would give Charles a 5-star rating and his property management company a 3-star rating. I would definitely stay here again because it feels like a home!"

  • Beautiful and Relaxing Paradise Home

"This home is wonderful, particularly for families with small kids who don't want to stay in a condo or resort. We traveled with three kids (5, 3, 18months) and I loved the idea of an orchard and a swimming pool to keep them occupied if we were working around nap times or meltdowns. Our kids LOVED playing (though closed toed shoes are a must for the orchard) and exploring. The setting was picturesque and private even though it is a residential neighborhood. Debbie was also so thoughtful to provide a pack n play when I mentioned I might need one. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, and sun hats are also available for your use so don't bring from home. In addition to the lovely setting, the rooms were spacious and clean. There was plenty of garage storage for our stroller and suitcases and preparing meals at home rather than eating out was very nice. It felt like home, which if you travel with kids, is a big bonus. This home is located on the "beach side" of the Island so if you want volcanos and waterfalls it is a bit of a drive, but it is close to Kona and all the shopping you could desire. Its proximity to the airport and the Costco were a big plus as we had rental car issues that required us to KEEP going down to the rental places near the airport, but it wasn't a distance. Debbie was great to work with. She replied to all questions I had very promptly and the people she had caring for the house (gardner/pool maintenance/trash guy) were all very affable and accommodating. The gardner even took my mother in law and husband on an hour long tour of the orchard describing the fruits and plants AND brought lovely fresh flowers. It was paradise and if I am lucky enough to go to the Big Island again, I would DEFINITELY stay at this home a second time... maybe without the kids! ;)"
