  • Lovely Home!

"We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. It is well-stocked with kitchen gear, linens, and two beach towels. There are two spacious bedrooms, with an en-suite bathroom off the master bedroom and an additional bathroom down the hall. We stayed here comfortably with our family of four. The home was very clean and updated. The best part of the entire home is by far the enclosed and covered lanai. We spent MANY afternoons and evenings just relaxing in the comfortable patio furniture in the nice breeze. There is good internet in the home and Dish network television. Our family truly enjoyed our extended stay in this lovely home. The only downside is that the yard is all lava rock and there are no large established trees for shade. However, this is clear from the pictures and there are many trees planted to provide shade in the future. The homeowner, Tamara, was very helpful throughout our stay and responded to our communications quickly. Thank you for making your home available to us, Tamara! We highly recommend this home to others."

  • Romantic getaway

"The Bali Temple felt like and was a luxurious getaway. Beautiful view of the ocean across the lava fields from the palatial four poster bed, nice bathroom with fluffy towels and jacuzzi, comfortable sitting and dining areas, and well equipped kitchen. Thoughtfully decorated and stocked without feeling awkwardly lived in, it was a wonderful spot for our last 3 days on The Big Island, from which we explored Puna, Volcano, & Hilo. Hilo Bay Cafe was delicious but make sure to get an outdoor table. Loved the Ahalanui thermal pool in the evening, snorkeling at Kapoho tide pools, and walking to Uncle Robert's Market. Be here for that on Wednesday night! It was a highlight of our trip. Had hoped to see the flowing lava nearby too but it was not a 30-45 min walk from the parking area as the guards told us, but more like a couple hrs. After about 4 miles w/o appropriate sun cover or hydration, we turned back. After nightfall would be better than early morning but expect a significant hike in the dark. We loved the Bali Temple and would love to return someday to do things we didn't get to do in the area like the lava tree park, Champagne pond, hit the galleries and shops in Hilo, the botanic gardens and waterfalls north of Hilo, the black sand beach nearby, and return to Uncle Robert's."

  • Paradise

"My daughter and I recently stayed in Peaceful Cove Cottage. the setting is surreal with the sounds of the coqui, the tropical birds and the crashing of the ocean waves. the cottage is comfortably tucked up in the tropical landscape. Cheryl and David were so wonderful to work with. Great location to visit Hilo, to the local beaches for snorkeling and up to Volcanoes NP. We loved the geckos. they are better than the anoles that we have in NC. thanks again! Mahalo."

  • A Slice of Heaven!

"I chose this place for the lagoon described, the proximity to volcano np, great snorkeling nearby and many other sights worth seeing plus I didnt want to be among the tourists. OMG! This place was aaaaamazing!!! After what seemed like an endless flight, transfers, hiring the car my head was spinning and I felt quite ill. However when we arrived, despite it being dark, we went straight to the lagoon and were surrounded by the most magical sounds of singing frogs - I swear I could hear them answering each other! Over the next few days we found it quite hard to drag ourselves away from this place to see other sights. We even missed out on seeing the volcano!!! The house had everything we could ask for all in good working order, was very clean and very homely. I sat out on the veranda most nights and there was a noticable lack of mosquitoes! Might have been all the frogs and cute green geckos! The kids absolutely loved the beautifully warm lagoon with all the resident fish and I loved my night swims in moonlight or rain - the weather had everything but in that lagoon it didnt matter such was its perfect temperature. We are now in maui on the beach however I know I could have easily spent my entire holiday at the "house of the dancing turtles". We will definately be back for a longer stay to see more of the sights next time round. Just to add, we also partook in a day with Dawn Burke (Off the Beaten Path Eco tours). It was wonderful to connect with a local who knew where to go and what to do...and could get us to places that not everyone knew how to negotiate. It was my first time to Hawaii so it was invaluable getting Dawn's insight into all things Hawaiian. Thank you Jeana et al for making this property available. It was heaven indeed :)"
