  • Jabberwocky - Perfect Louisiana Bayou Family Vacation Experience!

"This property was amazing and exactly what our family needed! Lots of space in the home. We traveled with kids, grandkids, a grandparent, siblings, etc and were more than comfortable. The layout of the house is so unique with its 2 separate kitchens, balconies overlooking the bayou waterway, handicap access bathroom and ramp into the house. The kids and grown 'kids' enjoyed the wi-fi and TV access. I personally enjoyed the early morning breeze, the sunny kitchen area on the first floor and the privacy of the spacious property. The pool was a fantastic plus for the kids! The grounds are beautiful with the cypress trees, water features, wonderful wind chime, deck seating, hammock, and grilling area. Plenty of wildlife, too including an alligator, herons, and turtles. The location is ideal. We shopped for groceries and found several wonderful seafood markets within minutes of the house. We were able to get to the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans in less than 45 minutes. I appreciated the distance from the city! Definitely a retreat type property with all of the amenities of a big city house! We definitely want to return and would highly recommend this property! Thanks Beth!"

  • Great place!

"This house and location suited us perfectly for a family gathering! Our group included a great grandmother and 2 young children and the house worked beautifully for all of us. The house is lovely and is more spacious than it appears in the photos. We had room for games and puzzles, as well as cooking and dining. We loved the outdoor space and had fun fishing and crabbing. The property is clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked. The elevator was a real blessing for our senior member! Andy and Sue are great to work with and were most accommodating. We are looking forward to another stay!"

  • Awesome! Beautiful! Private...:D

"The crickets sounded wonderful, and there are so many stars at night. The hubbub of the city is left behind and all we had to do was relax and enjoy this amazing property. The "lake for a backyard" is pretty amazing. My two boys bought some fishing rods from the local Walmart, and when we weren't out attending Mardi Gras parades, we were enjoying fishing and the excitement of baiting crab traps for dinner. I enjoyed a few glasses of wine on the large and beautiful veranda, but make sure you use some bug spray. Whitney, the owner is awesome , she actually had bug supplies available for us, and all the fixings for a lovely holiday including coffee, extra blankets, cozy dishes and a beautiful kitchen to prepare a meal should you want to to stay in. The drive is a bit more then half an hour to New Orleans, but it was quite an eye opener seeing parts of Louisiana, not from the view of the French Quarter but, from more of a local and, realistic perspective. I have 5 kids ages 6, all the way up to 15, and if they weren't outside investigating the water and rocks, they were playing games together, or watching as much tv as they were possible allowed. This is well worth the booking."
