  • Totally perfect place!

"We ended up with an unexpectedly large family reunion for a week, but I had booked this lodging when I thought we would be a small group. As a consequence, I saw many lodgings (including 3 just for me and a friend during the week). And this one was the best of the lot, if you value a bit of seclusion, flexibility in terms of how many people can be accommodated, a beautiful and scenic setting on the water, a handy location to Round Pond and beyond, and want to swim (or kayak -- we rented one to have at the edge of the property and my kids swam daily), bring a dog, and be welcomed in a very personal and appreciated way! It was very clean, light and bright, well-equipped and comfortable. An ideal rental."

  • 10-Star Cottage!!!

"Ahhhhhhh...........This cottage is a coastal paradise. Pure peace and quiet in a very inviting, well cared for, rustic, cozy, CLEAN and totally comfortable slice of heaven. Well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable king bed, handy extra 1/2 bath. Plenty of space to spread out or stow vacation gear. Great deck with a front-row seat to a fabulous show put on by seals, kingfishers, herons, chickadees, woodpeckers, jumping fish, even an occasional bald eagle. Great kayaking right off the deep water dock, with beautiful islands to paddle around or explore. Quiet paddling/drifting between the dock and rocky islands encourages the seals to come close and check you out. Stress-melting hot tub, reliable internet access. Lots of enjoyable local day-hikes. Plenty of interesting local or day-trip things to see and do, or just read a good book and doze on the deck...Kirsten is very responsive and made it so easy to make the arrangements and have a wonderful stay. We've been vacationing in Midcoast Maine for about 10 years, and this is by far our favorite cottage. We've had 2 perfect stays here, and can't wait for our upcoming 3rd trip! And hopefully, many more to come!"

  • Our own little piece of paradise with rich history

"Where do I even begin?? I have so many wonderful memories of our stay at the Farm. My family and I spent Labor Day weekend at the DeWick Farm. It was nothing short of AMAZING! The Phipps Point area was wonderful, lush and full of woods with houses quietly tucked away in their midst. The was no shortage of privacy at all in this amazing area. There was also a great amount to do right outside the house. We spent a few days down by the river fishing while the kids hunted around for "creatures". The kids absolutely loved it! There is so much space surrounding you and not a soul in sight... at night you can see billions of stars (yes, billions!) and hear the animals communicating to each other in the woods. As far as interactions with neighbors or traffic, well, the occasional car driving past the house was considered the Farm's "traffic", lol... and of the few cars that did pass, not one went by without a wave and a friendly smile. The home itself is a very special place. Full of memories and pictures, being in there you can vividly imagine what it must have been like more than half a century earlier. The home is in great shape, Catherine and her family have maintained it beautifully. We felt lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful, historic home. My family and I were very sad to have to leave, for the short time we were there it truly felt like home. We made memories there that will last a lifetime. Before we even arrived Catherine made us feel at home. Once there we were able to meet Catherine and her family. They were all such wonderful, kind spirited people and we feel fortunate to have met them. If you're looking for privacy and a home located in a pristine setting, this is the home for you! Thank you to the DeWick/Johnson family. All the best, Ellaine P.S. - Catherine, I've listened to your advice and my entire linen closet reminds me of your home in Maine! :)"

  • Great time on a beautiful piece of property

"I had a great time last weekend thanks to extremely accommodating landlords who were not only helpful but went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. The property is well kept and the house was a pleasure to relax in. Upon arrival, I met with Darren and Melissa who welcomed me with a tour of the property and some background. Super sweet people who are very dog friendly (which is awesome given the size of the property---your dogs will love it!) and helpful. The house was in great shape--all the linens were clean and the kitchen works like new. The bathroom is brand new and is in top shape. The grounds around the home include a porch and fire pit, and the walk to the kennebec is minutes. I would seriously recommend this rental for anyone looking for a nice, relaxing, quiet weekend away in true Maine fashion. You are minutes from Bath/Bruinswick if you wanted a little more excitement too."
