  • Quite and cozy

"Love love loved the place, it is very well kept , cozy and everything my husband and I were looking for to have a nice peaceful weekend away from reality...the cabin had everything you could possibly need there and was well stocked. The only thing we had to use from what were packed were our clothes and food, everything else we didn't even have to take out the car, our first evening we relaxrd st the cabin all evening so nice to sit in silence when you hacr 3 sets of very active twind at home. ..Saturday we went to the botanic gardens about 25 minutes away. Followed by lunch at fiesta a nice little bar and grille (try the house margarita). We went back to cabin played some board games that were available, later in the evening grilled our dinner and sat by the fire with a little low music. We absolutely loved our stay and plan to visit once a year just my husband and I. Thank you Donna for having us."

  • College Roommates

"My college roommates & I get together 1x/year & this year we wanted to stay near the Clark Art Institute. This house was perfect for our get together! Carol was easy to work with & very responsive to emails. Mid October is a wonderful time to visit the Berkshires - the colors were amazing! A bit too cold to enjoy the water but the scenery from the dock was lovely. The house was cozy, warm, spacious, very comfortable & very clean. The living room with the glass walls was lovely & we enjoyed feeling like we were surrounded by nature. Although, the house isn't lake front - you could see a bit a of the lake from the living room. We enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen & sleeping on such comfortable beds. Many wonderful towns/activities were close by. Not having WiFi made it a little more challenging to make plans but we managed to figure out where we wanted to go without it:)! Would definitely stay here again!"

  • The most delightful rental of our years of travel on 4 continents.

"Unlike its touristy, commercialized neighbors, Lenox and Stockbridge, West Stockbridge is a quaint hamlet with real country feel. On the 3 block main street are antique shops, craftsmen's shops, a top shelf wine store, and (right next to the rental) a country store providing newspapers, basic and gourmet groceries, drug store stuff and packaged country dinners they prepare right there. Every Thursday afternoon there is a farmers' market with local farmers and artisans and live folk music. The rental, West Stockbridge Dream, faces on the quiet "main street" and has an upstairs and a downstairs apartment. Both have capacious living areas and bedrooms but only the upstairs has a kitchen, large and appointed with the most upscale appliances. Both apartments have bathrooms and the beautiful shower upstairs is a spa in tasteful stone construction. There is space for two cars to park. The real treasure is the upstairs tree-secluded deck that sits right over the gurgling stream that is the Williams River, On the right you hear and see the waterfall that powered a Shaker Mill. The owner, Lois Ferguson, is a honey who lives in an adjacent home and is available for any contingencies, but is non-intrusive. She provides closets of all the cleaning and paper goods you will need. We recommend The Shaker Mill Tavern in town for basic American food and their smoke house specialties. They have a special play room for children. We have stayed here for two summers and we intend to return every summer for the music, dance, theater offerings in the region."

  • Beautiful serene spot on a small lake.

"We enjoyed the quiet space to rejuvenate. The paddle boat and small sandy beaches were perfect. The house completely fit our needs. It was clean and well supplied. Easy to find and the back roads were perfect for a hilly jog. Highly recommend Sherwood Shoppes."
