  • Good house in a fabulous location!

"We had two adults and two teenagers that stayed in this house in mid August. The location was absolutely incredible with a very nice, sandy beach and a perfect view of the sunsets! We had plenty of room inside and outside the house. The canoe and paddle boat were nice additions to have. The owners were very responsive and easy to deal with. The house was very clean. No air conditioning but lots of fans. We rented a pontoon boat for a day from B&B marina. They were also great to deal with. We switched our reservation from one day to another, due to the weather, and they were very nice and flexible. It was great to have a place to tie off the boat by the house so we could go in for lunch and a bathroom break! My only suggestions for improvement would be some of the cookware and the barbecue, and the Internet and cable reception were sometimes spotty. While there were plenty of cooking supplies, some of the pans were worn out with the coating very worn and scratched. Also the barbecue was sketchy and would not light. We did not contact the owners about the above since we considered them minor issues. Overall, a great property to stay at! Loved being so close to Mackinac and Traverse City. We would absolutely stay here again!"

  • Nice cottage

"My family enjoyed our stay at the cottage and Higgins lake. Cottage is rustic, but clean, fully furnished, and location is great. The beach area is shallow and nice for kids; fire pit and free wood was awesome; large lot across the street. Plenty of things to do around the area...hiking, fishing, golfing, canoeing and tubing along the Au Sable , boat rentals,...or just read a book on the dock. Some nice restaurants in Roscommon village. There is a "small" street between the cottage and the lake...but it's just a typical subdivision street...not busy, with people walking their dogs and driving their golf carts...there is very light car was not a problem for us. Would consider staying there again!"

  • Lovely, cozy cottage in quiet, wooded area on lake

"Exactly as advertised. In a quiet, wooded area on lake with beautiful view. Kids had a great time playing on beach and in water. Cottage updated and cozy. Owners made everything easy and quickly responded to all questions. We would definitely stay here again."

  • Great location and hosts!

"Kevin and Jan have a wonderful cottage on Mullet Lake. It is a great home base; you can explore many places in northern Michigan and come home to a comfortable bed at night. Also Mullet Lake marina rents very nice pontoons to explore the lake and Inland Waterway. Had a great time."
