  • Summer 2016 week in Grand Haven

"The location was ideal for our family being near to the beach but not on the beach. The beach was outstanding! The home was very attractive, upscale, and very suited to our needs. The bedroom sets, one set each side of the house with jack & jill bathrooms in between functioned very well for our children and grandchildren. The kitchen was very accommodating and used it on most nights to prepare meals in the home. The property and home were very clean and well maintained. The "great room" was a very comfortable space and thoughtfully laid out. It facilitated family gatherings in the evenings for conversations, games and fun! The basement was a bonus, giving a place for the grandchildren to play and be children. The musical fountain in Grand Haven, and the street performers in Holland are a must see! We would recommend this home to any family looking for their vacation Home Away!"

  • Great Escape!

"We just returned from a four night stay in August. By the time I booked in Feb/March, only the two smaller cabins were left, but we were able to fit two families of 4-5 members each into each cabin. The cabins were very clean. AC unit in one and central air in the other. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a few dish towels, wash cloths and larger towels provided in a laundry basket. You could leave the basket out with dirty towels and a request for replenished paper products on Monday and Thursday. Lots of dishes and utensils provided. You can tell the owner, Jeff, and his family takes great pride in this property. Jeff lives onsite and can be seen often doing work around the grounds. Very friendly and talkative :). It looked like there were maybe two other family groups on the property at the same time, but it never felt crowded. There is a nice sized beach, lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play and a "game garage" complete with bikes of all sizes (bring helmets), foosball, shuffleboard and a few other things. Water smelled a little funny (maybe just because we are city folk!) Water pressure and temperature were good. We drank bottled water. Meijer is just off the main expressway about 10 min down the road. There is a mom and pop corner store a two minute walk if you need pop, chips, etc. but I wouldn't do big shopping there. Bring your own fishing poles. There were canoes and kayaks to use and some provided sand toys, noodles and a few inflatables. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!"

  • Relaxing and beautiful

"We spent Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful Lake Michigan Lake House. It is exactly as pictured and we had a great time. We especially enjoyed the sun porch because it it completely made of windows and provides terrific views. Lake Michigan is unusually high this year, so the beach area was much smaller than usual, but our host cleared a path on the bank for us before we came. I would go again in a heartbeat."

  • Perfect Mini-Moon Escape

"My newly wed husband and I were looking for a relaxing escape for a few days to recuperate. The cottage was perfect for this! Everything was clean and orderly. Only a few minute walk to the beach and there were nearby wooded parks for walking as well. Parking was very close to the house. I would suggest having an umbrella if it is raining. The outdoor shower with hot water was great for rinsing off feet after walking along the beach. 2 Quick Suggestions: 1) Putting trash bags in the bathroom trash cans. I didn't search through the cabinets to find trash bags so I am not sure if there were any. But I put old grocery store bags that I had in my car in the bathroom trash cans. I always try to consolidate all our trash before leaving into one bag for easier clean up for the owner. Trash bags also means that hopefully the actual cans don't have to be cleaned out so frequently. 2) Disposing the used bars of soap in the shower. We brought our own toiletries to use, but we thought it was odd to see used bars of soap in the shower."
