  • Delightful!

"The Chardoney House exceeded our expectations. Quaint and lovely home and Village. The kitchen and backyard Area and deck were icing on the cake! The owner/landlord could not have been more acommodating--down to sending us Hammondsport toutist information and having the firepit ready for a beautiful bonfire on a lovely evening. We would not hesitate to stay at The Chardonney House again. Sept, 2016. T and L G"

  • Charming house with amazing views

"I will agree with another reviewer that the pictures of this home do not do it justice. The house itself is charming, comfortable, well-maintained and equipped, and very clean. Everything is recently remodeled and/or well-kept. Hammondsport is a very quaint town, and we took advantage of the proximity to many fantastic wineries and breweries (Do not miss Point of the Bluff Vineyards and Keuka Brewing Company!). What we enjoyed most, however, was being mere steps from the lake. We made great use of the kayaks, but spent the majority of our hours just sitting on the patio, watching the lake. So relaxing! (And our dog loved it too :-)"

  • Weekend get-away

"Cute, cozy place for our weekend anniversary get-away. SUPER clean (which we really appreciated!) Hosts/owners were extremely nice. Kitchenette was well stocked and easy to cook a meal. Dock was great, even though most of our weekend was rainy :] The shower--even though was super clean, was a trickle---no water pressure whatsoever. That was fine with my husband--he is bald!! But took me a good 10 minutes just to rinse the shampoo out of my short hair. The worst thing was the bed... it is a box spring/mattress on this wooden platform thing in an alcove, with a good 8 inch space between the inner edge and the wall....and it also tilted down on that side. Of course I was on the inside so felt like I was trying to keep from falling into the abyss all night. We both woke up with aching backs that first morning. Second night we pulled mattress/boxspring onto the floor, and that was much better. The pics don't really show how close it is to the owners place and the other rental places they have next door, so no privacy at all once you step outside the bungalow door, so if you're looking for privacy this is not the place for you. We really enjoyed the area, visited several local shops, wineries and breweries. So much to do! Overall, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars (mostly for the cleanliness and friendliness of the owners)."
