  • Peaceful, happy place!

"We stayed at La Bella Vista in August 2016, my family rented 4 out of the 5 cabins. My 80-something parents to our 22 year-old son, we all found things to enjoy:: kayaking; row boating; fishing; swimming; reading by the lake in the sun or shade; hiking; family dinners; Scrabble and Dominos; just peace and quiet; lots of laughs; nightly campfires; even trips to the local stores and restaurants for a couple dinners and a breakfast place a couple times. Our "cabin" was more like a house, although you could tell we were in the woods...we were visited by the local friendly rooster, ginnea (sp.) hens, chipmunk...My husband wasn't so sure if he'd be able to wind down and "what would he do up there for a whole week?". He was the first one I heard to say he'd "go back there again"! We might even bring the dog! Thank you for a wonderful place for our whole family to enjoy, even the two pugs!"

  • Can't Wait to Go Back

"You know how sometimes, after you return home from a perfect vacation, you have the blues for a few days because you had such a great time, and are sad to have to return to reality. Well, that is how you will feel when you arrive back home after a week at this Lake Ontario Beach House. My wife and I took our three kids there for a week in late August. We were joined by another family of six. So much room to spread out. The raised deck was perfect for lounging in the sun and having a few cocktails. The enclosed porch was ideal for playing cards during the one day of rain that we had. Sunsets over the expansive water are a rarity for us East Coasters, so that was quite nice. Gorgeous kitchen. Spacious rooms. Large dining room that can handle a large group. And, most importantly, a substantial back yard that lends itself well to Kan Jam, Corn Hole, badminton, etc. When I asked my kids on the way home what their favorite part was, my son said the fishing, and my daughters mentioned the fires on the beach at night. My wife said the hot tub and sleeping in. Great vacation. See you next year."

  • A relaxing stay in a great location

"Enjoyed a great weekend at the Blue Cottage, whether lounging on the huge front yard with good privacy, or relaxing in the living room at night. The chalet was well equipped, the bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Everything was well looked after. We will definitely come back again and recommend to friends & family. Abe and Kathy were great hosts, very helpful and accommodating. They took us across the river and back by boat so that we could access their very own private beach on the lake. And no question was too trivial for them to answer. They definitely enjoy interacting with guests and we could tell that they love what they do. It was also a great location, a short drive to the falls and hatchery which were well worth the visit. While it would have been a plus if the cottage were on the waterfront with a view of the river or lake, it was all the same a very enjoyable weekend overall. Thanks for a great stay Kathy and Abe!"
