  • Wonderful place to stay on Lake Lure

"The cottage is comfortable and well appointed. David and Penny are great hosts, available yet unobtrusive. As the first guests of the season we felt a certain responsibility to make sure to leave things as we found them for future guests. The view from the cottage and the boathouse deck is beautiful. A wonderful place to stay, we would gladly recommend this cottage to any small family. The best part to me was how readily they accepted our dog. Penny even got Piper a dish for water since we weren't sure where her dishes were when we first got there. They are very warm and caring people, and we would not hesitate booking this cottage again should the opportunity arise. Reni and Jim McLemore"

  • Great getaway location

"We were fortunate to book a stay through iTravex for this great mountain cabin. It is charming and comfortable, secluded but within 10 minutes of the town center of Cashiers. Wi-fi is included. It is convenient to the most amazing waterfalls east of the Mississippi. We wanted for nothing but more time there. Thanks!!"

  • Absolutely phenomenal!

"This chalet and property on the Laurel River is absolutely phenomenal for a restful, secluded break. The woods and river are truly quiet and peaceful. There's only foot traffic along the river during the daytime. The evenings are dark - free of light pollution, and the chorus of the tree frogs and cicadas, etc. at night is the only sound over the rushing of the river below. The home, itself, is the perfect balance of modern convenience and rustic character. We spent our days hiking the trail while hubby fished the river. It was lovely in the early spring so we didn't avail ourselves of the deck, firepit or grill because of the chilly weather, but this is as close to a perfect retreat as one can get - fully equipped for a great time in a sylvan setting! Hot Springs is a quaint town just a few minutes up the road on the Appalachian Trail, with eclectic dining and shopping. I can't say enough about this property and location - it is truly a hidden gem for folks that want some quality alone time with family/friends."

  • Perfect Cottage for Two!

"First let me start by staying this is literally in the perfect location!! Just about the same distance from the cottage to either downtown Boone or Blowing Rock. Right around the corner from Price Lake which was a perfect nature walk/hike to take three dogs on or bring out some kayaks. The size of the cottage was just enough, and was so incredibly neat with all the windows. No A/C became a concern when the temps were expected to get up near 90 but with the windows open and a fan at night we were fine! The only issue we had was dogs afraid of the spiral staircase -- so just an FYI for folks with animals :) might need to cater to their needs a bit. But they LOVED sitting at the window and watching the chipmunks and birds!!!"
