  • Probably the best designed vacation home I've ever seen.

"It's hard for me to add meaningfully to the years of overwhelmingly positive reviews you can read here -- honestly, they're pretty much right about all of it. This property is a gem. What I'll say is that unlike a lot of vacation homes I've stayed in, everything about the lodge really *worked*. All of the bathrooms and the kitchen actually vented outside (so, taking showers or cooking a stew didn't steam everyone). The central air actually propagated very well throughout the property -- not the usual "2nd floor is an oven while the first feels like the north pole". Thoughtful chandelier-style lighting and ceiling fans were absolutely everywhere (including the centerpiece deck / porch); and, I never had to hunt for a power outlet when I needed one. The "summer camp" theme is strong throughout the property, and made the place feel so much more like I'd gotten away from my city home -- the pictures simply don't do the place justice. Windows are placed strategically throughout so that you're never spiritually far from the pleasantly woodsy setting, and the tall vaulted ceiling was both visually handsome, and a treat for the ears in the rain. The layout of the property was very conducive to making spaces for people to get together and talk or play, while leaving plenty of room for some quiet reading when a bit more solitude was wanted. We honestly never missed the lack of Cable TV -- which is an endorsement all by itself. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked and had room for two to comfortably work, and the dishwasher was a life-saver that did a better job than mine at home. About the only thing I really missed during our stay was a tub for soaking after a long day's hike, but it's hard to complain when there were 3 very nice showers and plentiful hot water. We're all very much looking forward to coming back next year!"

  • A Haven in the Woods!

"WOW! We were speechless when we arrived at the cabin. Beautiful location, gorgeous, very well-maintained cabin. We made many precious family memories with my parents and our kiddos. Enjoyed the lake, hiking at Trough Creek, and just relaxing on the porch. Sat around the fire our last night and ate every single meal out on the deck. Thank you for sharing your lovely getaway. We hope to return!"

  • Great getaway

"My family had an amazing experience. There were great accommodations and outdoor activities. Both the lodge and homestead have a nice rustic feel which help you relax easily. I would suggust this for anyone who wants a mountain getaway and wants to spend quality time with friends and family!"

  • Great cabin for a get-together

"My husband and I stayed at the cabin through the week first. Then we had our friends join us over the weekend. We really had a great and relaxing time! It's a dooz-ie getting into the cabin (via the dirt/stone road) a suggestion is to make sure you enter with day-light. You will have an easier time that way. It's a beautiful cabin."
