  • Fun 3 day weekend

"The house was very clean and had all the furnishings needed. We ate dinner at nearby restaurants but cooked breakfasts at the house. The pool table and hot tub made for some nice evenings. The owners answered any questions I had before going there. I would recommend this house for a nice relaxing stay."

  • A Secluded Home near the Lake

"Everyone had enough space. We had plenty of beds and bedding. The kitchen was well equipped with things we needed to prepare meals. We had three elderly parents/grandparents with us who, two of them especially, had trouble with the outdoor steps. With help, we got them inside the house and settled down. We liked the secluded area. It is quite a nice area to be. Our little family included a 10, 8 and 6-year-old, who we took to the nearby DelGrosso's Amusement Park. It was about a 40 minute drive. We always like it when a property has a washer and a dryer. We just enjoyed getting away for a weekend. The grandparents liked the scenery on the way to and from the The Otter house... a 4+hour drive.... to and from our own residence. Be sure to bring your own towels and washcloths as the owners have stated on their VRBO page."

  • Family Vacation

"If you enjoy the outdoors, the Hideout is a great vacation destination. During the week we made the short drive to Raystown Lake, Trough Creek State Park, and Raystown Lake Resort. We enjoyed hiking, boating, swimming, and exploring this beautiful region of PA. Tatman Run, which has a beach area, is approximately 10-15 minutes from the Hideout. The location of the Hideout is ideal if you're looking for a secluded location with quick access to Raystown Lake. At the Hideout, we enjoyed relaxing in the spacious house, reading on the wrap around porch, and playing yard games. David Pelletier, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. He is easy to get a hold of if you have questions. The property is well maintained. If you're looking to vacation in the Raystown area, I recommend the Hideout without reservation."
