  • Great weekend getaway!

"I spent 2 nights here with my wife and we have a fabulous time. The cabin is quaint and has everything you need including canoes and kayaks to enjoy the pond. So many great sites and attractions are close by as well including Lake Willoughby, Newport, and Hill Farmstead Brewery! Owner was very easy to deal with and at a great price! Definitely recommend for anyone trying to get away who doesn't need all the bells and whistles."

  • Excellent Weekend in Vermont

"This house is located in what we consider the best location on the lake. The house has had some improvements done that include an amazing deck and dock: perfect for running off and jumping in deeper water. This deck is really what made eating outside great every night while being able to listen to the loons, watch fireworks and to hear the neighbors down the way play their guitars. Friday's nights in the summer are outdoor concerts in town that draw large crowds, there's a great restaurant in town, small grocery store and a gas station with ice cream, pizza and movie rentals. All around a great getaway on the lake. If you're into doing outdoor things- Clyde River will deliver paddle boards and kayaks right to your door."

"This cabin was a rustic dream. My wife and I loved our week here. While we mostly lived on the deck, the interior of the cabin is nicer and more comfortable than the pictures we saw posted indicated. The kitchen was easy to cook full meals in, and the bed we slept on was great. The bathroom is beautiful with all it’s screened-in views. The pond was mesmerizing. We saw no one, and heard human activity only a couple of times the whole week. But we saw lots of wildlife action from eagles to herons to humming birds to a beaver who crossed slowly in front of the cabin every evening at 6. The edge of the pond was ringed with narrow band of small lily pads. We bought $4 blow-up floats at the local hardware store and coasted from the dock out across the plants and into the center of the pond where we took long swims every day. In the evening we built a fire in the fire pit or stargazed from the deck. We slowed way down at the cabin. Very mellow. We took some longish walks without ever leaving the property. But it was nice that Newport was only a few minutes away and Derby just a bit further. Between the two towns we found everything we needed. Really special. We will never forget it."
