  • Great family vacation

"Great location for fishing trip and family vacation. Kids had a blast playing in yard, fishing off dock, and having campfires. Boat launch was right across channel, real convenient for getting boat in. We kept our boat at the dock at the house. Channel is protected from main lake so no problems with waves. Overall a great trip"

  • Serene Woods Experience

"From the log cabin to the wind whispering in the trees, Camp Okee-Dokee was a picturesque getaway for my husband, me, and our three golden retrievers. They loved the woods trail (a perfect 1mi jaunt even my pregnant belly and I could waddle along), and went swimming off the dock during our unseasonably warm November stay. The edges of the lake are boggy, but the water was clear. We didn't use the boats, but there were several, along with a shed full of life vests and other water gear. There are hundreds of acres of public forest right across the street for those who want more vigorous hiking or hunting. The cabin itself was lovely. The furniture was comfortable and plentiful for an extended family. The double-sided gas fireplace was our favorite feature. There are several book cases filled with reading material and DVDs (basic TV is included, but spotty depending on weather), as well as an entire closet full of games and puzzles. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, cleaning supplies, and even an assortment of spices. They also have a washer & dryer for guest use. Our Sprint cell phones had a voice signal on the back deck, but no data coverage. Some notes about dogs: They are welcome here! Max, Kim & Steve's shepherd mix, is extremely friendly and got along great with our retrievers. We let the dogs play off-leash for the most part as the house is set back far from a quiet street, but we did use 30-ft leads and a stake in the lawn after dark. If your dog tends to run into woods with wild excitement, be aware that the neighbor has a barbed wire fence about 10ft into the trees along the side of the yard. They only run into it once. The house is well-equipped to handle dogs of all sizes. The master bedroom has its own door and deck, and there is a mudroom with its own door, which worked well as a staging area to wipe paws and check for ticks. YES, this is Wisconsin and there will be ticks 9 months of the year. Even if you don't normally apply Frontline, etc. you should apply preventative before visiting. Keep in mind that most don't repel ticks, but will kill them if they bite or stay on the fur. Bring a fine-tooth comb and check the dogs' head, ears and belly before allowing them back into the house - even if they only play in the lawn. To prevent any ticks from coming home with you, throw worn clothing and stuffed animals into the dryer before packing. We did this and haven't had any problems."

  • Awesome!!!!!!

"My family had a wonderful time at the lake! This home is very well taken care of. It's exceptionally clean and wonderfully decorated. The house had central air which was really nice for hot days. The beds were comfortable and all linens were provided. Pillows are provided too, but we like to bring our own when traveling. Bathroom towels are also provided. The house is very spacious, and we were surprised at how big the living room is. There are three couches and 2 comfortable chairs. The porch overlooking the lake is where we ate all of our meals/played games, etc... There is a pavilion just up from the lake that is covered and has some lounge chairs for your enjoyment. And a wonderful sauna! There is a large pier where you can dock your boat. We had a fun time jumping off the end into the water. We fished off the dock and caught some blue gill and bass. We caught minnows and had fun looking at rocks. The lake has a sand bottom and is really clean. We would rent this house again. Thank you!!"

  • Beautiful setting

"The location and setting of the home was beautiful as well as the home itself. We had a very positive experience with the owner and they were always available to answer any questions we may have had. We especially enjoyed the rental of the pontoon as it made the hot weather not such a big deal. We would recommend this home for a family getaway."
