  • Unplug for the most relaxing weekend imaginable

"When my wife and I found this listing, we thought it was too good to be true. Surely there was a catch, right? Right on the lake, surrounded by trees, 2.5 hours away from our Chicago home, dogs allowed, beautiful cottage with tons of character. After just returning from a long weekend there, it lived up to every expectation we had and more. I'll start with the bad part (yes, singular) of our trip: the water has a strong sulfuric smell/taste. That's it. Buy a case of bottled water from the Piggly Wiggly just on the other side of the highway and you're all set. Other than that, be prepared for relaxation and beauty. Your cell phone will probably not work. Ours worked occasionally, but never when we asked them to. We were thrilled by this, and it made it so easy to relax. Other highlights: starry nights, fetch with dogs on the beach, shaded dirt roads (running!), Sheboygan restaurants, friendly neighbors, board games, patio sun, wave sounds through the open bedroom window, lazy rainy mornings, and so much character and charm in the cottage itself. I'd recommend this place to anyone. The bunk beds are small, so plan your party accordingly. Just don't expect to use your phone!"

  • Great location!!! We loved it

"We stayed here during the PGA Championship and fell in love with Elkhart Lake. We are from NJ and loved how friendly absolutely everyone we met was. Elkhart Lake has a great small town feel. This house has a really great location. We were able to walk to all of the fabulous restaurants we found in town. We loved the Lake Street Cafe, the Back Porch Bistro, Off the Rail for breakfast, Gesserts has the best ice cream we've ever had! You have access to the Siebkens resort pool which our kids loved; as well as the lake which was very very clean and beautiful! We rented kayaks at the Oostoff resort one day. The house has all the basics that you need and fresh linens provided. There is a grill out back which we also used for lunch a couple times. We stayed in both upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs is nice because you have the beautiful front porch to use! The house is very charming. The owner is very nice and was so easy to work with. We recommend Elkhart Lake and this house to anyone. We would definitely return and stay here again!!"

  • Relaxing Family Getaway

"Had a wonderful stay at this relaxing waterfront home this past summer! We enjoyed most of our meals out on the spacious deck that offered a great view of Lake Butte des Morts. During the quiet mornings my husband enjoyed drinking coffee & reading down by the water and the kids loved the little club house & fire pit! This lake home is very close to restaurants, grocery stores, and an outlet mall. Owner Steve Griffin is very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be coming back!"

  • Unique, Impressive and Convenient

"This beautiful rental home has been our Girls Week-end destination for two years in a row now. The Lake view is awesome. The patio with the gas fire pit in the middle, is welcoming and warm on those cooler nights. The location is within 4 miles of a major grocery store. The inside is very nicely decorated and had board games and movies galore for inside entertainment. The grounds are beautiful as well. Whether in the front or back of the home, there was spacious areas for gathering (and following the sun.) The beach area is a little small, but very quaint and private. We had a very enjoyable stay that was filled with fun, relaxation and memories."
